LAND OF NO TOMORROW

Oh! my Nigeria,
Ironical is your motto:
Peace but hostility;
Faith but disloyalty;
Unity but division;
Progression but retrogression.

Professed:"The giant of Africa"
Of course,the giant of corroption.
Blessed land of Oil and Orange,
But lacking in abundance.
The elite's greed and cruelty;
Both in Mufti and Khaki:
Ravaged the pillars of developement;
Thwarted the dream of our mission;
Pauperised the living of the masses;
A barren married to an impotent.
Is there chance of having a baby?

There inside the land of no tomorrow:
Warriors of ethnic clashes;
Heroes of religious intolerance;
professional sword and gun thieves;
Talented and educated but jobless youth;
Principally, unprincipled politicians;
Honestly, deceitful Dons;
Materialism is the hallmark.

In civility of our mordern democracy:
To marry an elite, you're conferred a Dr. honour;
To win election,you earn chieftancy titles;
To preach Gospel,just shout (Tazarce);
To shout tazarce you earn a booty;
To remain in office,be a sycophant;
To shun bribe,you are a fool;
To remain saint, you'll die of hunger.

Shall I we join the race,as can't beat the system?
To whom shall we appeal our plight?
Aremu: an airborne traveller?
Oputa: a set target commissioner?
Akanbi: a tiger without fingers?
For how long, shall we await the coming of Messiah?
Thank God you the unborn.

O God! arise us a true Messiah:
Absinent,ascetic though scarce;
Of honesty, prodigy and integrity;
A commitent servant of humanity;
A prevailer of justice and equity;
A rationaliser and fortifier of economy;
A competent captain with proficiency;
Who can sail through sea safely;
In thus we reiterated till eternity.

Is who is reputed with integrity
Is he who puts character above wealth
Is he who commands social justice
Is he who has primacy of the public intrest
Is he who serve with dedication
Is he who consult before he decides
