Title: Yaradua as President - What is the strategy?
Post by: mallamt on December 20, 2006, 08:35:47 AM
It is almost a forgone conclusion that 'Yaradua the PDP presidential candidate will be the president of nigeria come 2007.

There are a number of people in this forum that I greatly admire and respect their political analysis minds who I hope will come out of their shell/silence and make some comments on some of the questions that I may have and others may raise here

The PDP and in particular the current president has agreed or insisted on a north zoning of the presidency, what is behind taking a) a person who never indicated interest till about 4 weeks to the convention b) why does it have to be a person who is not well known or whoes track record is all but cloudy c) and most importantly why does it have to be somebody with a serious ailment and may not be able to see out the full four year term d) what happens if he does not see the four year term and his vp takes over will PDP still translate his tenure as rotational and then move on to the next zone?

i dont know what the strategy is, but i can give him some things to consider and actually not only him including the govenors which is "talk to the REAL people" and see what they would like and how they can contribute to the fixing of this country, rather than talking to some of those high rank ppl all dressed up in flashy clothes giving the impression of naira na gugan naira, seriously thay dont come up with good solutions to problems cos they know it will affect them, su dai komai for them is lafiya lau as they hav nice houses, gen for electricity, good food to eat n jin dadi. As for the poor man shi sai yayi kwanki before he sees light apart from d sunlite, wani ma wen he eats his tuwo in the evening he waits till morning yasha koko. i mean seriously wat the hec is going on ???. alright i can see that am moving of the plot ;D but heres things to think about talk to the people.

Well, Mallamt you are right in your own way but I think we shall pray for the new president to turn Nigeria a new leaf. Whatever happens we are here watching and the rest will take care of itself.

good to hear brothers pouring missiles of prayers
to Mr. President.  However, prayers for him alone
will not solve the current problems we are facing
in this country.

To start with, the family institution is the pillar
of the enlarge society.  Except or otherwise,
discipline is instill on each and every family,
then, Nigeria will continue remaining the same
even if the top most leader is a saint.

History has it all; Prophets Noah and Lot (AS)
are very good examples of pious leaders, who
have dedicated all their life and wealth, preaching
goodness, amma ina - each time they tried, it
becomes worst.

So, prayers to Mr. President is also good, but
it should be extended to all of us.

Recently Yar'adua offered to take the opposition parties along and the ANPP confirmed their willingness to work with the present government.
I think this is a bold step by the President.

Is that really Yar'adua? i could'nt believe that either when i came across it on Youtube. i think they should find out who took the footage and punish them, because it is so embrassing to say that it is the current president of Nigeria in that situation.

Hey mufi i can see you've made your own certificate for the former president check this out i was just reading the daily independent when i came across this:

EFCC Must Prosecute Obasanjo, Says CNPP
July 26th, 2007

By Sylvester Enoghase

Senior Correspondent, Lagos

Trial of public office-holders by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) will not complete if ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo is not prosecuted.

Secretary General, Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP), Willy Ezeougwu, stated this while speaking with journalists in Abuja on Wednesday.

His words: "Obasanjo should be the first to be arrested and taken to court over the illegal sale of public assets to himself and his cronies before those in the Presidency, National Assembly, local government chairmen and other public office-holders.

"We in the CNPP have always supported Nuhu Ribadu and his EFCC in the fight against corruption, but the way they are going looks very funny.

"Obasanjo's role in the sale of national assets in the name of privatisation to himself and his cronies must be investigated and he should be prosecuted if found wanting.

"The shoddy manner Transcorp Hilton Hotels, Nitel, Mtel, Kaduna and Port Harcourt refineries were sold without strict compliance to due process and at a give away price should be investigated."

Ezeougwu argued that nobody will take EFCC seriously until it prosecutes the former President.

"Obasanjo's purchase of shares in Transcorp Hilton Hotel in 'blind trust' should be investigated before Nigerians can take EFCC seriously. They better start with the 'big masquerade', so that Nigerians will trust them.

"We are still awaiting the arrest and prosecution of some big time former governors who are loyal to Obasanjo, who Ribadu had earlier announced to the world that he had concluded investigation on and was waiting for the immunity clause to be removed before prosecution," the CNPP scribe said.

lets hope and see if this does happen.

And it shall never be ok, so long as we talk and
of and advocate for Democracy.

It has never happened in this world, so it will not
happen also in Nigeria.  They ripped us of our rights,
election was never held in Nigeria, but Yar'adua
was declared winner.

Past will never be past abokina.  Its still fresh in
our memories.

Except, Yar'adua yayi resigning ko kuma - Kef.

Thank you all for your various contributions. All we need to do now is to say Ubangiji Allah ya taya shi riko and lafiya. We can all see from how he started, he really will make it with our prayers. Mufi, I am very happy to see the certificate you prepare for Ubanshegu. You have really done it perfectly, he deserves nothing than to go back to Yola prison

We need to pray for yaradua to succeed. He should not rule like OBJ did, behaving like a non Nigerian, but a sectional champion. Yaradua should rule with utmost trust in God and the believe in the upliftment of Nigeria as a whole. May Allah SWT guide and protect all his actions, amen. :D
