Basa jin kunyan uban kowa, they do whatever they think its right irrespect of who says its wrong. Not religiosly, but in the society. They do everything so openly and are scared of no one. My step grand-ma lives in katsina. she is 79 years old and still smokes. Not only does she smoke, she smokes buki, which yan katsina will know very well. I guess it has to do with the influence of turawa.

Could someone throw some light on the genesis of the age old "wasa" between Katsinawa and Hadejawa. I find it interesting that whenever the two meet they immediately strike up a friendly "yabis" session, and this applies to both young and old.
Funny thing my first sighting of a northern woman smoking was also in Katsina years ago and whats more this was also the fisrt time I saw a lady riding a bicycle wearing zani which she had pulled up to her knees!

Now that we have found ourselves, lets discuss on the survival, I re-emphasize; survival of our identity, our motherland, us, u and I.
Katsina has alot of problems facing it, apart from that of a normal nigerian man(Allah ya sawaka). That should be our dicuss not diss`n and snitching on one another.

know how gossip flies and just like a chinese whisper, it gets modified and
exaggerated from person to person. Who knows ma maybe it's da same
one tsohuwa dat smokes and because it's a big deal, da gossip spread

i believe nowadays almost all women are materialistic, you just happen to be spending a lot of time in katsina as you have said.in terms of beeing too self-conscious i can't speak for everybody, but i know i'm a very independent and well grounded person to be too self-concious about anything. the women are too busy worrying about other women have or what they are getting instead of putting all that energy into been productive in their own personal lives, and i believe it has to be where one is actually from.
I don't think it is an issue of "spending a lot of time" in KT. The issue is what I ( and some friends coincidentally) observed about the girls there. For instance I do spend time in KD, Jigawa also, but the girls are diff.

So you are implying that only KT girls/women are materialistics. to be honest i have not been to KT for a while now so i can tell exactly what is or not happening there or any where else for that matter. i think women in general have change as long as they have exxpensive clothes to change, good cars to drive, a nice house to live in, but hey ;) ;)they are human beings anything to get with the crowd.

In my home the guest is always the one to start, Infact I don't get to eat until every1 is served, and to tell u the truth some Katsinawa's r very hospitable towards their guest, but I guess now economic hardship is forcing ppl to resort to not entertaining at all. Allah ya kara rufa asiri.

Hehehe! Gogan Nneka, False! Daura is not the closest to Nijar in Katsina state. In fact,
it's a 20minute car ride from Daura to the international border. You have to pass through Mai Adua.
Hehehe! Lemme refresh your Katsina state geography (Which by the way should be made compulsory to
everyone since Katsinawa are Nigeria's MVP :P)! Eh hem, the LGAs that border Nijar are - Mai-adua, Jibia,
Baure, Mashi, Zango and Kaita I think. I may be missing one but I'm not sure. Since you are so interested
in Nigerrienne Soyayya lemme give you a short cut. From Kano you go through Kazaure, you pass through
Daura --> Kongolam --> Gwajjo-Gwajjo--> Mai Adua --> Give the soldiers small small something ;) follow
one straight road like this --> then you turn left and in 2 - 3 hours, you're in Maradi! I'm not sure which is
closer though, Kano to Zinder or Kano to Maradi. There's another route through KT but the road from Daura
to KT is terrible! There's actually a point called "Kwanar Mutuwa". So much for Yar'adua's "hard-work" in
Katsina state *rolls eyes* Allah ya kiyaye. Good luck! A kawo mana tsaraba!
