chit-chat / Re: sex education in the north
« on: August 09, 2003, 08:07:07 PM »
Ofcourse you are missing my point dfynest. All i am saying is that things that are natural, sex interalia, are some of the bounties from  the Almighty. It comes to all of us in a natural way, that is growth to adulthood which have obvious signs. These sigms differ between male and females, that for instance in males you have hoarse or broken voice, pubic hair, increase in the size of manhood, and ofcourse the feeling of malehood to women. To me it is better to enlighten men and women when they are just about to get married. This responsibility solely rests on the parents, period. But when you start telling kids about sex etc, believe you me, they will hardly understand, or better still, understand it wrongly.

I discussed this topic with a friend who told me about a village guy that got married and was going to his wife through the wrong way for two years, unknown to him and the poor little girl just because they do not know the exact point of entry. Do you blame them? I put the blame squarely on thier parents who should have admonished them at the right time on what to do, simple. There is no, and probably never a teacher that will be comfortable discussing these issues with kids. In essence, am for sex education only when taught at the right time, that is when a boy or a girl reaches the age of maturity. As for AIDS and other vices, I will only say parents should keep closer monitoring of their wards in the way the Islamic religion demands of them. Remember that children and white paper take any impression!

Look guys, please do not be carried away by the western coined "sex education". It is truely satanic and was only intended to distract u r attention from doing ur religious obligations as Allah SWT demands from u. If one may ask, who taught the first human being, Prophet Adamu AS, and his wife Eve how to? This thing is a natural thing it comes to any humans, male or female at the right time of growth. The moment the pubic hair and the change in the size of manhood occur, naturally one becomes aware that there are purposes for which God the Almighty gave them to us, and one uses it adequately, and with respect to what the LORD said on what, when and how to use them, period!

Traditionally we have some cultures that are acceptable while some can be detrimental to our religious beliefs. The tradition of "cire 'yar wuya" could be ill concieved and against medical norms. It is scientifically called a "flap" that covers the windpipe opening when a substance is being swallowed. Removing it completely will obviously negate its function and ultimately cause problems to the victim. Therefore allowing it to remain where it was is better, or what do you think?
The issue of playing terms between a married woman and her husband's brother is only practiced for good relationship and understanding to be foatered within the family members. Which is in a way desireable if it will not exceed some bounds though. You see, " wasan kanin miji akwai dadi, idan kana nika ya hau baya"! ??? 8)
As for removing shoes and kneeling down, I believe that the practice only shows how much respect one has for his parents. Even religiously it is said that deeds are judged according to intentions, that is the intention one has before committing an act. It follows therefore that if a child kneels to greet his parents or teachers, his intention is just to show his respect to them only and not to "worship them as God" or demi gods. There are no limits to which children can go in showering their parents with respect. I think the practice should be acceptable, and not to be misconstrued as a kind of "worshipping" which is not what the person intended when kneeling down to greet his parents or teachers.
The other issue is the wearing of amulets ie laya, guru etc to act as a defence mechanism for its users. Is the practice wrong? Has these type of charms worked for anyone? Is it true that there are such charms for protection against knife's cut, gunshots etc? Let someone kindly throw more lights on this issue of amulets, please.

By Mohammed Ali, before he knocked out (smoking) Joe Frasier in 1971.

" Joe is gonna come out smoking and I ain't gonna be joking, cause i'll be pecking and poking, pouring water on his smoking. This may shock and amaze ya, but i am gonna retire Joe Frasier. They say Joe's got endurance, against me, he will need an insurance."

If a man fell into a well and reached the bottom and died, it is a destiny. But if some how he stopped midway to the bottom, and was not hanging onto something, just suspended midway, it is a miracle! Wato kamar ayi ruwan sama amma bai taba kasa ba kenan!

A JOKE, BUT TRUE.

A sign board at the entrance of a Girls' High School in India reads:

  TEN OCLOCK......LIGHTS OUT........CANDLES IN.

  ELEVEN OCLOCK...CANDLES OUT!

The sign post is trying to tell students that by 10pm electrict light should be off. Candles can then be lit for an hour and be off by 11pm.

Well what r the remedies larinski? You see  believe in the survival of this enterprise called Nigeria. But I hasten to say here that things are only working good for a very few while the majority are wallowing in abject poverty, religious and civil strifes, day light highway robbery etc. Isn't it time the government starts thinking that the welfare of its citizens MUST be paramount to it?
