Islam / Allah Himself is Peace.
« on: November 25, 2013, 09:40:14 PM »
Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: We were saying in prayer behind the Messenger of Allah, “Peace be upon Allah; peace be upon so-and-so…” So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to us one day, Verily, Allah Himself is Peace. So when any of you sit in prayer, let him say: Greetings, prayers, and good things are for Allah; peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings; peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. If you say that, it will reach every righteous servant in the heavens and on earth. Then say: I bear witness that there is no God but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger; then you may ask for whatever you wish.”

Islam / A man who commits a sin
« on: November 23, 2013, 09:54:35 PM »

It is reported that a man came to Alī – Allāh be pleased with him – and asked, “What do you think about a man who committed a sin?” He replied, “He must seek Allāh’s forgiveness and repent to Him.” [The man] said, “He did that, but then sinned again?” [Alī] said, “He must seek Allāh’s forgiveness and repent to Him.” The man again said, “He did that, but returned to sin”. [Alī] said, “He must seek Allāh’s forgiveness and repent to Him.” The man said for the fourth time, “He did, but then sinned again.” Alī then said, “Until when?” Then he said, “He must seek Allāh’s forgiveness and repent to Him; and not give up until it is Shayān who is defeated [overcome].”

Juwairiyah bint al-Harith may Allah be pleased with her reported, The Prophet peace mercy and blessings of Allah be upon him came out from my apartment in the morning as I was busy in performing the dawn prayer. He came back in the forenoon and found me sitting there.

The Prophet peace mercy and blessings of Allah be upon him said, “Are you still in the same position as I left you.”

I replied in the affirmative. Thereupon the Prophet said, “I recited four words three times after I had left you. If these are to be weighed against all you have recited since morning, these will be heavier.

These are: Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, `adada khalqihi, wa rida nafsihi, wa zinatah `arshihi, wa midada kalimatihi

(Allah is free from imperfection and I begin with His praise, as many times as the number of His creatures, in accordance with His Good Pleasure, equal to the weight of His Throne and equal to the ink that may be used in recording the words (for His Praise)”

Saheeh Muslim

Commentary: The recitation of the words quoted in this Hadith is highly meritorious and rewarding because they are full of Praise and Glorification of Allah.""

Ata ibn Yasar reported: I met Abdullah ibn Amr and I said, “Tell me about the description of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, in the Torah.” Abdullah said, “By Allah, he is described in the Torah with some of what is mention in the Quran: O Prophet, verily, we have sent you as a witness, a bringer of glad tidings, and to give warning, (33:45) and to guard over the illiterate, for you are My servant and messenger. I have called you a trustworthy man who is neither rude nor loud in the markets, nor does he return evil with evil, but rather he pardons and forgives. Allah Almighty will not take him back until He has made straight the religion which is crooked, that they will say: There is no God but Allah, through which eyes are made to see, ears are made to hear, and hearts are opened.”
