A PROMISING ASSET FOR A FUTURISTIC INDUSTRY
News Brief #1 January 27, 2005
Source: The Barutiwa Daily Times

Considering wealthy individuals growing interest in private travel to sub-orbital space, there is an unknown company that believes the Internet is a promising gold mine for entrepreneurs seeking to capitalize off the elites' interest in boldly going where no man has gone before. BCML Corp. a development stage company based in Cincinnati, Ohio believes the Internet will play a significant, if not central, role in the commercial development and private exploration of planets within our solar system.

Private capitalists, principal investigators, entrepreneurs and prospective space tourists are already using Internet enabled wireless laptop computers to foment the initial stages of their respective private, scientific and commercial space ventures. Technology can enable a Principal Investigator to control the actions of a robotic spacecraft from a laptop computer via a high-speed Internet connection. Can you imagine being in control of a commercial space mission from the comfort of your home!

For instance, let's say FlyToMars.com is a functioning portal for Principal Investigators to monitor, communicate and receive data from one of their micro-satellites prospecting the environs of a near earth asteroid. With their wireless laptop computer Principal Investigators can point their browser to FlyToMars.com, login and begin the performance of mission control tasks. The data collected from a private venture of such magnitude will surely yield valuable information that can be used for commercial and scientific purposes. This is one way that FlyToMars.com can emerge as a valuable asset to any commercial venture in outer space.

I will provide a series of proposals every other week suggesting different ideas on how FlyToMars.com can be used commercially.  The purpose is to contribute to the commercial definition and branding of the name since it is directly linked to a new and emerging space tourist industry.  These ideas will be published in the print and online version of The Barutiwa Daily Times.

FLYTOMARS.COM A PROMISING ASSET FOR A FUTURISTIC INDUSTRY
News Brief #2 February 10, 2005
Source: The Barutiwa Daily Times

Since SpaceShipOne's accomplishment of opening the private rocket era on October 4, 2004 - by becoming the first private, manned craft to venture into space twice within one week - the public's interest in space tourism has escalated to record levels. When a person thinks of or mentions the name FlyToMars.com, a smile swims across his/her face. Anyone with a creative and daring imagination can see that within our lifetime it is highly probable that several colonies from earth will litter the Martian landscape. Keeping that in mind it is not hard to imagine an online travel agency booking discount tickets to Mars or any destination within our solar system.

FlyToMars.com in its goal to establish a lofty commercial definition can emerge as the world's first online travel agency for space tourist. FlyToMars.com can function as an effective and efficient middle layer between space carriers and space tourist. Effectively negotiating discounts for prospective space tourist and ensuring that space carriers investment in infrastructure is not wasted, FlyToMars.com has the potential to manifest as the world's first dotcom to successfully capitalize on the space tourism industry.

Though any company can fashion itself as an online travel agent for space tourist, none carry such a simple, descriptive, memorable and likable name like FlyToMars.com. The marketing capacity of the name has huge potential to impact millions of people for decades. Consider a basic marketing plan targeting any student from the third grade up for the name FlyToMars.com, upon seeing or hearing the name for the first time will instantaneously ignite interest from a young visionary. The potential for millions of unique visitors to the web site is obvious, not including the thousands that will actually purchase a trip to any destination within our solar system of their choosing. The advertising revenue that a dotcom of this caliber will muster is sufficient to cause any professional marketer to salivate.
