Quote from: "dan kauye"How about we discuss new movies. There are tons of great ones out now..I've been  doing my rounds of movie going lately. Here's a few I saw .I put my personal ratings attached too.Lol.

Casino Royale( 8)  8)  8)  8)  out of  8)  8)  8)  8)  8)

Blood Diamond( 8)  8)  8)  8)  8)  out of   8)  8)  8)  8)  8) )

Dream Girls( 8)  8)  8)  8)  out of  8)  8)  8)  8)  8)

The Pursuit of Happyness..I'm going to see this tonight.

I said u lived abroad and u denied it.  Well all those films u are talking about are kind of releases that are so right now released. For example dream girls and the pursuit of happyness were released 15th December or there abouts. That was just three days ago!!!
Sorry infantry horn nuts, but we cant discuss those movies cos we havent had the priviledge of seeing them as we dont reside in the states. so we will continue to discuss the movies we have seen, and if they happen to be old, there is nothing we can do about that.
Besides we are interested in yr experience of them not yr rating of them. But dont tell us just yet, wait till we see them.....
I have seen a preview of Dream girls (and pursuit of happyness) I cant wait to see it.... but that will be sometime cos i am not planning on going to a cinema.

Quote from: "Muda"I have to tell u it is a nice movie Husnaa, u really have to see it, infact the french did they are best work in film making in Brotherhood Of The Wolves, not to talk of the movie was nominated for best picture, i mean u had to see the matured special effects the movie displays, the 3D slow motions and the clear sound, u can hear virtually the sound of every rain drops. Damn that is a movie

You've convinced me Muda. I will definitely hunt the movie down and watch it....... :)

1.Is it me or is someone coming a little hard on Dan-Kauye? Ah-kay.

2. About the ''experience'' thing.Well, apparently you didn't get the point I made with the ratings. What I assumed was that my rating wud spark some interest with  those who didn't see the movies in question.Obviously ,it didnt work. And if I post my experiences with the movies, and it turns out  ,as it did, some people didn't watch it .. that wud mean ruining the suspence and rush of adrenalin.Open for discussion.

3. Did you get my PMs?

Anybody watch Snakes On A Plane? It features Samuel L. Jackson. It is terrifying as snake films go. :o  I've watch Anaconda and the likes, but it can't compare to the above.

Men i cant wait to see that movie coz i know L. Jackson wont let me down. But wait...BG, do u actually mean whut u just said? that Snakes on a Plane is bettre than anaconda? I watched Anancondas (II) yesterday, i was stoned dead with fright, i have always shun watching the movie coz i thouight it was also one of the low budgeted pirated movies that issued after the first block buster came, i have seen several movies claiming to be Anaconda II but this one Anacondas have really proved my assumptions wrong and it has determined itself as the official sequel to the original movie.

The storyline is perfect and the director is really a good director. D movie is "just it" among snake movies for now. I dont see how Snakes on a plane will beat Both Anacondas...anyway until i see it dai.

Casino Royal, damn i love the first chase, they kind of copied Banlieue 13 [District B13], another french action movie that was nominated and won an Academy Award for Best Art Direction-Set Decoration in 2005, the chase was breath-taking, really, but they gave Bond so much energy and strenght, not to talk of the skills and success he got, i dont even like daniel Craig, he aint handsome, none romantic and lack charisma, the film also did not really diplayed a jaw-dropping hi-technology appliances except for the SonyEricsson Bond was using, and some computers at M's office, infact they did not really displaed the james bonds car technology wich is the scene i really look forward to in every boond movie.

Wow you have seen Pursuit of hapiness, will smith, am looking forward to it.

I bought about five though but i only managed to watch one called FAAN, with Amir Khan and is it phooja? Its no great shakes really. But it was adequate.

Are u talking about Fanaa with Aamir Khan and Kajol??

Da one that she was blind??? Well i actually liked that

movie. It's gives terrorist movies a whole new perspective.

Even tho i dont like politically related movies, i really enjoyed

that one.

Yes Fateez, the same one. Its no great shakes really like I said. I watched the Devil wears Prada last saturday. I really looked forward to watching it. Meryl Streep is a great actress. The film was Okay. She was great though. The most interesting thing for me was the fashions that kept flashing before my eyes.. those bags, scarves, and faux minks she kept throwing over the sec's desk every morning. Did she ever wear anything twice at all? There was the cameo appearance of Valentino during Paris Fashion week.I really like Valentino, His designs are so elegant and functional even on the catwalk. On the whole, I shant be watching it again for a long time.
PS Anne Hathaway is divinely beautiful...that full mouth..luscious

Does any one knows where one can get original VCD's or DVD's?
Watching pirated movies is so frustrating.

more like :) >:( :( out of 8) 8) 8) 8).
Totally agree with u muda about Craig and lack of high tech paraphernalia(i guess this was to symbolize the fact that it was adapted from the first Flemming Bond novel albeit being a remake).
The only good part was the opening chase.....and ofcourse the secene where Mr Bond was being totured...u had to be only James Bond to sustain such pain in the #!@$% and not pass out at once.

Any Le Carre fans in here?

If you live in Kano, try Excellence at Civic Centre road. There's also a newly opened place called CD Monger at Airport road, directly opposite Eldorado cinema. I bought some CDs there and they are okay.

Boi, it s really difficult for me dropping anything these days, the new software does agree with my comp. anny way am lucky today its working. Frustrating Huh?

Boy, there are so much movies to be seen these days, Stomp the yard that will be a bomb, i think they have finally figured out a movie that will beat You Got Served. I saw the preview and i went completely berserk. Ne-Yo is in the movie too. There is another movie by Mario (da let me luv u guy?) about some brutal violent college students who were tamed by their Literature/English teacher i think?!! The movie is highly inspirational, it trades in the same paces like the movie Dangerous Minds? its called Freedom Writers.

Those movie are a must watched!

Has anyone noticed that most of the films nominated for this yrs oscars were  released just about a month ago? Werent there any good films ne before last month or is this a strategy of releasing films just bfor the oscars so that they are fresh on the nominating committee's mind?

Thanks @ bakangizo.
Which movies were nominated for the oscars.
Was 'the departed' nominated?

HUSNAA

Yes, the Departed has been nominated in the following categories:

Best actor in a supporting role: Mark Wahlberg.
I hope he gets it, I liked him in Planet of the Apes and The Perfect Storm. Eddie Murphy has also been nominated in this category for his role in 'Dream girls'

Best Directed film or achievement in direction

Best Edited film

Best Motion Picture

Best Adapted Screenplay

Five nominations...must be a must see film. Martin Scorsese is the director right?? Its no wonder.

Yes Martin Scorsese is the Director. The guys' good.
I'm kind of afraid if the movie'll be good one.Usually when there are too many 'superstar' actors in one movie it isn't always good.Nevertheless i believe it will be very good.
Jamie Fox fa?Any grand nominations?Should we expect tears again? :'(
