It took me so many days of decision of wether to put up
this topic for discussion or not.  Whatever, i have made up
my mind to say something about it.

Diaspora in this post means any other country beside Nigeria
were Nothern Muslims live, wether as business men or public
officers from Nigerian Government and or including students
studying outside this country.

I am awakened by a live program i saw in DTV sometimes
around April last year (2006), where Igbos in Diaspora come
together to solve a common problem within their community.
Among their resolves; they promise to put up more universities
within their region in addition to sponsoring as many candidates
as possible to pursue various courses in different Universities
of the world - in particular, courses relating to sciences and
technology.  I say kudos to this initiative.

Early this year, I was also watching a comedy drama, where the
Ali Babas and others were performing, after the show, the MC
stood up to address the gathering - its then I understand that
its a committee of Yoruba's in Diaspora that organise a show.
The MC went further in telling the audience that, this is their 23rd
meeting and read the progress report of their association. (exactly
with that of the Igbos) They so much lay emphasis on education
because they verily understand that education is the bedrock of
every growing society.

I dont intend to give this thread a connotation of religion, however,
when the term Igbo is mentioned, you can't exenorate Christianity,
even though their are handfuls of Muslim Brothers within them.

They have so much come together giving helping hands to their
brothers who are yet to be strong.  They tried as much as possible
to portray to the whole world that despite their participation in government, they are still marginalized and brutally put into
slavery by the Muslims of Nigeria.

I say: Our Muslim Northern brothers in Diaspora, what are you doing as a
measure in tackling the problem of illiteracy in Northern Nigeria?
I want to be very sure of the various programs and achievements
you have recorded so far and what are your constraints.

I never intend to demean anybody or any group. Lets hear your
voices.
