This is absurd!!!,what kind of stupidity is this?do you take this as a joke?such was a voice of my neighbour responding vehemently to his 16yr old daughter who was jubilating over a multi-media message she recieve from her friend, containing animated picture of an imminent imam sheikh ABDUR RAHMAN AS SUDAIS dancing on a floor while the western music was playing, how on earth would you associate yourself with this useless good for nothing friend?he conteneud, while i ran quickly to see for myself what tempered one of the most respected and religious person in our neighbourhood,to my siprised i met him knelling down crying helplessly as if tommorrow will never come!i quite known him as a custodian of religion, very jovia and cool hearted,i then concluded that something must be wrong somewhere, when i enquired  from him ,he then narrated what happened tome. This is asign of aAL-KIYAMA,its approaching!he lamented.
My dear brothers and sisters in islam, this unethical, ungodly and unislamic animated pictures of imams and other islamic symbol are found in most of the cell-phones of able youth of present generation, the leaders of tommorow, who regard it as a fancy or adventure, its very rampant today, and will not yield to any positive development, its down-grading our dignity and not portraying the good image of a muslim,it also threatining the sustainability of sharia legal system been practicing in most states of northern region, every reasonable muslim know the repurcursion of it.As we all know islam is a religion where there is trinity,a religion wher there is no human sacrifice for the so called remission of sins,a religion where there is no singing and dancing and a religion with one set of belief and holy book,we should stop circumventing the facts,we claimed to be muslims and yet deviated form the truth.
Right from onset, westeners has brought many things aimed at undermining and destroying the muslims worldover, they are dare-devils whose barbaric act inflicted lot of pains to the entire muslim generation while we accepted them, embraced them and give them deu respect as if we where meant for them, yet we claimed that our conceptions, values, standards,  institutions, legislations and laws, orientation, ethics and morals are derive from our beloved prophet MUHAMMAD (S.A.W);I believe if he is alive today he will outrightly denied the faith of many muslims in the present generation. As if thats not enough some of us are storing pornograpic pictures on our cell=phones,is it a good legacy to our posterity?.Good character always poster respect among peiple,it gives you a sense of belonging as a human being,we should also remember that one day we will be gathered and resurrected before ALLAH who will count us for our deeds, every one of us is going to account for whatever good or bad he or she did,and iam pretty sure that justice must prevail that day,its a responsibility of all of us in the society to address issues of moral degradation, not for the goverment, traditional rulers, parents or ulamas alone, but its mandatory upon all of us to breed a society of peace and harmony, and to make alot of efforts in curbing the menace of moral decay among youth of present generation.
bully like western civilisation and the westerners in general are doing everything possibvle to diminish our image, weaken our strengh, attacks are launch on islam on a daily basis, from rocket and bomb in baghdad to jewish setlements, torture and arbitrary detention in palastine, from anti-muslim false, baseless and malicious propaganda in newyork,to the imposition of evil and devilish nomenclatures like terrorist, fundamentalist e.t.c in london and paris.I strongly challenge our ulamas, taditional leaders, goverment and each one of us  to play his vital roles in wiping out this ungodly act, contemporary jihad is not nacessary,an exercise of arms and amunation but this ius an era of interlectual jihad, match them pen to pen,ink to ink, animated pictures to animated pictures and cartoons to cartoons.
Lastly iwill like to clarify that all these preposterous statement, lies, fictions, false allegations, opprobrious appleation and supersiticious absurdities are nothing but western propaganda aimed at deminishing the good image of islam on which ALLAH has promised muslims that they will forever remain triuph,so long as they arev subserviant to his command.

Cool my brother and just pray for Allah to protect, as He promise, His religion from such snootness of these people. By Allah's grace this will just have effect to Islam as such of shouting, yelling and wailing of people to the house on fire. Has this any effect? Nope!

But, I for long, have known and watched such video clip in mobile phones send through multi media message (MMS), bluetooth and infared. There is also one I know of some turburned heavely armed men in Muslims dress, holding one man as non-believer. After a while of Qur'anic recitaion, they beheaded him, exuberantly calling Allahu Akbar! Allah is Great! And lots more of this nature are circulating. How can you do? Just pray; it does everything.

Allah ya kiyaye.

Good to hear response from brothers and sisters on
this tourching issue(s) as it regards to our only
religion (ISLAM).  However, just keeping quite and
praying is not the ONLY option we have at hand.
While Allah has promised to uphold its religion walau
karihal mushrikun, so also it is our duty to fight back
whoever fights Religion.  Mind you, i am not talking
about bombing onself, but using the same method
used by the enemies of Islam to fight them back.

It is only here I will make a big shout out to our
brothers who are fully conversant with these computer
designs and how to create multimedias to use
what ever message portraying Islam in good light.
This does not only applies to handsets, but to all
sorts of measures we can lay our hand.  Like once,
a brother told us how he fights those who misunder-
stood Islam in a forum discussion.

There is a website (subhanallahi) which I am compelled
to share with you www.bombislam.com, all sorts of
nasty and misconceived issues about Islam were portrayed
in that website.  So, its our duty to fight back using the
same method they fight at us, then the Victory from Allah
will surely come down us.

Allah ya taimakemu, kuma ya kare addininsa. Amin.

A neigbour who happens to be an imam  was heard by the author of the thread to be scolding his
daughter over her ignorant appreciation/joviality of a clip sent to her via her phone of Sheikh Sudais  depicted/caricatured dancing somehow or other to disco music and probably in a very demeaning way. This was probably designed by an Islamophobe somewhere out of Africa and it somehow made the rounds around the world as so many things are apt to do so these days.

The girls father of course was upset, because he saw it as one of the concerted efforts being made by some anti islam elements to denigrate Islam and unfortunately, they are succeeding because apparently instead of being dismayed as the father was, the girl finds it entertaining and titillating. The father literally breaks down in anguish because he is seeing another sign of Kiyama.

The rest of the essay talks about muslims' acceptance of most things western good and bad and how they influence us so much and yet we still claim to be deriving our ethics from the Qur'an and the teaching of the holy Prophet whom if he wer alive today, would condemn most of our actions as unislamic.

The author reminds us of the meeting with Allah SWT that must take place. He then talks  of how islam is under attack globally and ends by saying that the way to fight back is intellectually not through bombs and violence.

Might I add that while I agree that the way to fight back is intellectually, I dont think a tit for tat approach will necessary solve the problem. I mean retaliating in kind, bcos the western media or some other elements happily caricature Islamic icons and everything we hold sacred, wont dent their armor one whit, bcos most of the culprits do not believe in God or any supernatural order. What they believe in is mammon. Therefore the way to hurt them is to hurt mammon. That has been seen to work very very effectively with the Danish cartoons.

Another way to fight back is through what  DB wrote somewhere that lets  mu tattara 'yayan mu and really give them excellent  Islamic education to the extent that they realize the evils  being showered on them through text and graphic internet  messages via phone, notebook etc and learn to recognize and deprecate subtle shrapnels like the dancing As Sudais clip.

We could also fight back through evangelism, i.e bombard them with the message of islam in its true form, just like they bombard us with subtle false messages of islam, that on the surface of it look like genuine messages but if one looked closely, are really set to make one think of Allah SWT in the same light as a being replete with human nature and characteristics. Also talking about these messages txts or otherwise that make the rounds, if only any person who receives one would just delete it and not pass it on that would greatly reduce their circulation and the harm they cause. I hardly ever forward any of those silly messages that tell me that i will get a thawab by passing ithem on. There are many other ways of getting a thawab.

Good day guys!

The author of this thread certainly wrote in a frenzied and somewhat incoherent manner; and ended up muddling his message a bit. I get with gist of the message, and I do symapthise with Hafiz. Indeed the 'pollution' of Islam's virtues by outside influences should naturally be a concern for Muslims. There are good and bad ways of responding to this, as Husnaa has indicated. Here Hafiz unfortunately demonstrates one of the worse methods :
As we all know islam is a religion where there is trinity,a religion wher there is no human sacrifice for the so called remission of sins,a religion where there is no singing and dancing and a religion with one set of belief and holy book,we should stop circumventing the facts,we claimed to be muslims and yet deviated form the truth.

Pardon my curiousity, but was this backhanded swipe at Christian doctrines and practises really necessary Hafiz? It was rather unwise, and completely irrelevant to the issue of immoral cellphone use among the Muslim youth. For some Muslims, perhaps part of this issue of proprietory responses to public attacks on Islam means leaving Christianity out of one's angst. We have seen the reverse happen too often, and the end result is that Islam's image has been left in tatters everytime.

As Husnaa says, the intellectual response is the best way to go. However not everyone/thing deserves attention. Dan Borno, I don't think you should lose sleep over websites like that; they will not sway the intelligent. But I'm afraid the 'Jekyll and Hyde' approach allegedly exemplified by Muslim leaders like As Sudais himself on occasion isn't going to cut it. We must ensure that both sides of the coin -muslims and non-muslims - are covered.

Peace!

HUSNAA

Ahem.
Cekenah welcome to kanoonline forum.
When I read yr post, what caught my attention was yr reference to a Jekyll and Hyde behavior by Sheikh as Suddais. I thought rather that you knew something about the history or biography of  the gentleman that prompted you to make that observation. But then my impressions from your post coupled with your username led me to believe that  you are a christian and although you may be a student of comparative religion which might equip you with the authority to make such assertions of behavioral traits of certain religious scholars, I thought that that was hardly the case here. I thought that you were basing your judgments on what you read here so far and think that the man AsSudais could on the one hand sit on a pulpit and preach with a dignified presence and then on the other hand, in another instance loosen up to disco gyrations and uninhibited behavior.
I think that is hardly the case. As Sudais is a  teacher and a public figure whom ppl look up to revere and try to emulate. He has to practice what he preaches as well, and in anycase, Islamic doctrines do not condone behavior in which ppl make fools of themselves. At all times ppl must behave in a dignified and responsible way, and none more so than the leaders of  communities whose behavior ppl are inclined to emulate.
Like I said, the video clip must have been the manufactured product of someone who is an islamophobe, as the conventional wisdom nowadays is to attack anything vaguely muslim. There is nothing Jekyll and Hyde about As Suddais. He is utterly an honorable man with no split personality.

Hello Husnaa.
I see that you came to the wrong conclusions about my remarks on Al Sudais. The animated video clip in question – most likely the product of juvenility rather than ideological opposition IMO – is obviously not connected to reality and is thus an unsuitable basis for passing judgement.  My background notwithstanding, I would assume that the context of my comment (intellectual response to detractors) would point more to your first assumption.

Al-Sudais' publicized comments in recent years have been rather conflicting. Sometimes he stands out as voice of moderation and peace between different religions and peoples, and against extremism. At other times, it is exactly the opposite. In fact, it was on the basis of alleged anti-semitism that he was denied entry into Canada a few years ago. The worrying thing about Al Sudais' controversial statements is that most of them occurred in his public prayers/sermons in the mosque. This is what I meant with the Jekyll-Hyde comment. Sometimes non-Muslims get the idea that some Muslim leaders say one thing to the West and another thing to their followers and sometimes this thought is not without reason. This is also why I concluded that the intellectual defense of Islam as a religion of peace must go to both sides of the coin – to ignorant non-muslims AND muslims alike.

I hope this makes it clear.
Peace
