the recurrent clashes between the sunni and shiite followers
in sokoto state has matured into a monster capable of underming
the state developmentally and will very soon loos the test of been
a former seat of usmaniyya.

the inability of the state government, traditional institution and
members of ulamas to come to terms with their followers, shows that
neither the government of sokoto state, their traditional rulers and
including members of ulama (his highness, sarkin musulmai inclusive)
has upper hand in this matter which translates into portraying sokoto
state as ungovernable.

the report by daily trust reporter, which i read this morning in its online
version
http://www.dailytrust.dailytrust.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=297:shiite-sunni-clash-leaves-4-injured-in-sokoto&catid=1:news&Itemid=2 tells you that very soon sokoto state will be thrown into
a deep crisis because of the actions of its citizens.

it is time, instead of the 19 nothern governors to be meeting on how and who
will cling to power come 2011, concentrate on bringin peace to the former
state so as to avoid this disastrous monster from spreading to other parts
of the nothern states.

sokoto state house of assembly should also wake up from their slumber and
come up with stringent practicable laws that will bring an end to this lawless
killings of ourselves.

It is unfortunate really. I thought Sunni-Shiite feud was a foreign thing. Mu dai mun iya dauko wa kanmu rigingimu da basu da dalili.
