Title: ARGUNGU
Post by: FAtima Batul on September 19, 2005, 04:32:19 PM
ARGUNGU
Believe me or not,
I love Argungu.
Come with me or rot,
I?m gone to Argungu.

Festival I?ve seen,
Culture I?ve noted.
To benin I?ve been,
Kano I once voted.

Camels and Horses they ride.
Masquerades and deities they display
For Argungu its fishes that hide,
People just plunge the river in relay.

The big catch we are awaiting,
The men with guords and nets all dive in,
One big dip and its fish they are catching,
Let see who will have the big win.

Wow! A young man has caught the biggest
Aside a durbar of horses and camels,
This is a festival adjudged the greatest,
Its sure worth my endless travels.

Gosh, the fishing festival is over,
I will leave Argungu tomorrow.
I?ll remember Argungu forever.
God?s willing I be home by tomorrow.
