dr. shettima mustapha (defence minister)
i wonder why 'baba go slow' decided to post dr. shettima
to mann the defence ministry after fully knowing that he
is a veteran agriculturalist with years of experience.  even
during the senate (rubber stamping) he narrates his
successes in the field of agriculture and what future he has
for the agriculture, he started this thing since 60s amma
sai gashi a defence, where he will only be told what to do
and relying on someones (expert and experienced) opinion.
the best place for him is agriculture, ba wata wata.

professor dora akunyili information minister
yes, she might do well in this ministry, but almost all
nigerians expected 'baba go slow' to appoint her either
the minister of health or education where the damage is
done much.

may God save us.

These ministers, apart from coming too late are a bunch of square pegs in round holes. Most of them do not match.
Our leaders should know that putting someone with just an administrative experience to man a professional ministry will not solve Nigeria's problem. If Dora did well in NAFDAC it is because her profession is related to the work she is doing. By putting her in Information and communication she might find it difficult coming to terms with Nigerian communication policies etc.

Sam Egwu as education minister. God save education in Nigeria.

That was how he posted Mrs Fatima Ibrahim to power.Since inception they have been chit-chatting about a state of emergency in the power sector but till now nothing has been done and electricity generation is at its worst. She once saw a transformer and called it a generator. The reality is that if you don't have knowledge on something and you are asked to manage that thing, people will see many loop holes.

The worst of the appointments is the FCT ministry. Senator Aliero (all error) of all people,a serving senator. Wannan Handama da babakere yayi yawa. Maybe it is because he is married to baba go slow's daughter. Everybody expected Architect Nuhu Waya instead the architect was posted to power.

I see everything wrong wth these appointments.
I pray make the 'go slow' no com transform to 'hold up'.
God save us domin bata canza zani ba.

Senator M.A. Aliero
Hon. Minister of FCT

I wonder; how about his senate seat? Is he to leave or to merge the two posts and work altogether?

Quote26
Dr. Rilwanu Lukman
Hon Minister of Petroleum
28
Dr. I.Y. Lame
Hon Minister of Police Affairs

These two for the first time in Naija, I think. Hope it will make a difference. Will it?

Wai why must we have 2 ministers in a ministry ne?
Apart from all the perm secs and directors.
Salon dai a kashe kudi kawai.

Sometimes i wonder if we even need minsters at all. I was listening to the news one day and i heard that the federal executive council in its weekly meeting discussed and approved the fencing of some parastatal. Imagine,of all the problems in this country wai sai zancen katanga suke yi a meeting (with the president for God's sake) *mtsss*

Not a very dynamic list. Full of familiar old faces. The biggest disappointment is the retention of the notorious Attorney-General and Justice Minister Michael Aondoakaa (he of Ribadu hounding and Ibori protecting fame).  So do not expect any corrupt ministers, officials or former Governors who looted the state treasury to be prosecuted any time soon. As long as Aondoakaa remains in office, Nigeria will remain a Shangri-La for looters of state funds.
I thought the Health Ministry would have been a more appropriate post for Professor Dora Akunyili.

It is because of the "federal character" principle in the constitution which says that the FEC must contain at least one minister from every state of the federation. Since there are 36 states, that means there must be at least 36 ministers in the FEC = waste of national resources on duplication of responsibilities and paying their salaries = less money for the common man.

Ju compare the dynamism of the yet to be sworn in president of the US and our own lacklustre prez.. he of the vision 2020. Maybe we should take out the two 2s in the 2020 and leave him with the other two digits.

LOL auntie. Our siyasa ai is fragmented in the lines of san rai and wuru-wuru. Thus, how are you (not you in particular) expecting us to make such a progress of voting a hope-to-be dynamic leader like Obama?

;D ;D Ai ni ku kuke bani mamaki. How can you be disapointed since you know how the country is? You know how the prez came to power. So there are lotsa palms to greeze. Lots of compensations. Not to mention dama he is directionless. I'm not dissapointed. I think I've reached a point where nigeria's leaders shenanigans da shedanci had ceased to surprise/dissapoint/annoy me. I mean why should I give myself ciwon zuciya a banza ;D

Just imagine Lukman, Shettima. Just the combined age of the two is close to 200yrs >:( And to add insult to injury, Aliero !!

Nigerians need to display some reaction like the Thais did.
