position of this story, please?
A 25-year-old Nigerian man, Abdullahi Maidawa
from Mamawa village, Bagudo local government
area, Kebbi State, committed
suicide Saturday by dousing himself in petrol and setting
himself ablaze. His action according to police was
his failure in memorizing The Koran (Qur'an). He
had tried fruitlessly for eight years with impeccable
devotion to memorize the Holy book which led to
his terminal decision, police said.
Kebbi police command responded to reports of a
burning man, during which they found Maidawa with
almost 100 percent burn. All efforts to save him after
he was rescued by police and taken to a health clinic by
his village failed. He gave up the ghost hours after arrival
at the clinic, but not before he told police detectives that
the second reason for his action was because he was an orphan.
Alhaji Muktari Ibrahim, Kebbi State Police Commissioner
confirmed the incident Sunday in an interview with
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Its a true story. I heard it on the BBC. Some Malami even gave his take on the kind of suicide and said that it couldnt be regarded as such or some such. I cant remember. Poor guy! Allah dai Ya Jikansa. Dama ance karamin sani babban zunubi ne. To gashi dai ta faru. Ya kashe kansa dan bai san me yakamata yayi ba. Kuma although it is highly desirable to memorize the Qur'an by heart, it is not compulsory, tunda Allah SWT Ya san yadda Ya Halicci kowa da kuma irin kwazon da Ya bai wa kowa.
