It came as a crass rude and agonizing news that the nnpc md spent 240m on hotel accommodation alone. This is very disappointing if one takes into account the suffering of the Nigerian masses. With little or almost zero basic amenities to enjoy, one misguided, and perhaps haughty and arrogant citizen is squandering tax payers' money crudely and mercilessly. The corrupt practices tribunal has been exposed to what truly it represents, a hoax and a slap on the intelligence of Nigerians who are being taken for granted in some confused, warped and misguided policy of tranparency.
It is a big shame, not only to nigeria and nigerians, but to all pledging global democracies. :o
Assalamu alaikum;
Guduma,
And he said he is actually sacrificing for Nigeria by staying in that hotel. . .
Kai Najeriya. . . a dakeka a hanaka kuka. . .
This is the first time I have heard of this. Where did this story come from? And did he really say he was sacrificing for Nigeria?
... meaning that he deserves to stay in a house more expensive than what 240mil can buy or what?
It is no wonder why Government Biz. takes up over 80% of our revenue.
I would want to hear what OBJ has to say about this. Will he really be able to look people in the eye and ask them for more sacrifice when his cronies are spending as much as $2m on hotel bills alone?
Monetization indeed!!!

Haba!!! let d man b........let him enjoy!!!!!. Let him have all d luxury that his heart so desires.
Am sure ya'all wouldnt mind one aswell (she laffs)
on second thoughts.........on d day of resurrection he will account 4 each & every dyme that is if its haram, but if he spends his own halal......wallah ku kyaleshi, jin dadine(she laffs)
i sincerely believe some lunatics have escaped our mental instituitions
Only in Nigeria. I saw the same story in the Daily Trust of Sept 9th and i could not believe it. One wonders what he does with the money he is entrusted with.
The saddest aspect of this is; neither the ICPC ( anti corruption body) nor the Natinal assembly will probe this. It is just an outrage that NNPC, with the most elegant HQ in Abuja will find it hard to construct an elegant home for its MD.
Gossip: We must not forget that Obaseki is related to Stella Obasanjo so he feels confident about his job.
His time will come..............
CIAO
Ogbaseki, is really un-patriotic and heartless. But am sure this is happening because the top is rotten. Obasanjo had succesfully institutionalise corruption and excells in injustice. Allah (SWT) Ya isa! Karshen-alewa-kasa.
EMTL
Guys/ladies don't forget this is the era of arrogance ;D It started from Mr president himself down to the lowest money stealer in this country. They feel it's their right to steal, history will not releave them of their wrongs. Watch Out! 8)
Hey!!!!!!!!!! let d man be, he'z juss enjoyin himself
Haba if he wants to enjoy let him get a yacht and be cruising off the coast of lagos.......................
amma dai this is nothing but extravagance.......kuma wai har pro din nnpc na da bakin cewa wai they are saving the nations resources by lodging the gmd in a 240 million naira room................kai !! nigeria!!!our life's a commedy....
Ummita thats not the way to solve a problem. The way t solve a problem is to tackle it and if an kyale shi to ai ba zamu taba ci gaba ba. Ko ba haka ba?
Rahina.i honestly believe that we africans and naija people in particular r very wicked especicially when it comes 2 other peoples money...so we can never progress...ad infinitum!

lollll lol lol JOKERRRRRR!!! Hey blad, where u go dey hide?
oh my god, when I saw this story last week I was in shock that I had to ask some of my coworkers what do they think about this kind of lavish behaviour. one of them actually asked me waht did he do with his salary? can't he build his own mansion?
eventhough Obaseki think that he has a lot of work in his plate than building his house, but I bet he was building a house out there somewhere.
this is crazy and embrassing for people to think just because they have position so we should be grateful that they have accepted that top position and let them live thier enjoyable at our expenses, that's the way it sound
When I first read the story I said this man most be crazy. Imagine one single individual spents 240M for accomodation alone and he believes its a sacrifies. I think this is ridiculous. The unfortunate thing is, this is happening in Nigeria where alot of people cannot afford 2 square meals, its really simphatetic.
Lest I forget is Obaseki now a building engineer that building his house will affect his work?
Allah Ya isa! :o
Oh this issue is not surprising at all,for those staying within the shores of nigeria, most of our office holders are only trying to consolidate, the system is currupt which affects the people as well, our leaders are not thinking of what to offer but what to get at the end of their tenure, and after sometimes they will use this same money to vie for political offices.
Do you know that a reliable source once said that akwai wani share da ake warewa vp in adamawa out of the monthly returns :-X :-X :-X
May Allah forgive us all!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is unfortunate for us to have in our country people like Obaseki who despite the fact that Government Revenue is dwindling they are busy spending the little the government is earning. First Obaseki is in charge of the revenue base of the country and he is supposed to know that the government needs every naira to take care of our social needs. Second the man is one of the champions of the downstream petroleum sector deregulation whic will translate automatically into the biggest increase in prices of petroleum product and energy the country has ever experienced.
Another unfortunate development is those among us that think we should allow the man to enjoy himself. Ummita you need to know that the guy incur the same expenses he approves which is not just unprofessional but clear case of conversion/fraud. If this is the NNPC policy there is need for a change but if not he needs to be tried in a court of law. But as a matured, reasonable and professional human being he needs to know that it is very extravagant of that organisation he heads to allow him makes sacrifices for the country at N241.4m and stay in a three bedroom hotel suit for 4 years instead of building a befitting mansion on one of the hills of Abuja for him and subsequent squanderers at N241.4m.
The man should be sacked.

First of all, let me say this AbuMujaheed sannu der zuwa. Is good to have you back, only Lord knows where u went & hid urself, anyways welkom bck :-/
Secondly.... :-/............b/4 u crucify me.......If u had read mah first comment clearly, I said he can spend on all that he eva wants but on d day of resurrection if @ all d money he incurred & spent on lavishly was not of his halals but harams he will surely account 4 each & every dime.
Then in mah second comment ("I was juss being sarcastic") as in jokes!! Of course its a hell lot of money...........but then all Nigerians r juss sitting there complaining and not taking any actions.
All shud remember d govt is 4 d ppl & by d ppl........if we hav d power 2 elect them as part of our leaders & they in turn can bcome so corrupt we can bring them down. I dont see any point of us complaining & not takin up any action...........but a point 2 b noted is "get up & do something" Its bout time someone gets up & does something. D citizens hav 2 get up there & pin him down.........but as long as nothings been done.......he myt as well keep on enjoyin himself as I already stated........wen he gets up there........d almighty will put him straight :-X
