KanoOnline.com and (ANA) Association of Nigerian Authors Kano State branch wish to invite all that can make it, to attend a reception / get together on Saturday August 9th 2003 at British Council Kano ( 10 Emir's Palace Road - Kano - Nigeria), time 4:00 PM. At this occasion, we will honor one of our Kano Online members and prizes will be given to the KanoOnline Poetry contest winners, but most of all it is an opportunity of KanoOnline.com members and friends of KanoOnline.com to meet one another.

However,regratably I cannot attend due to an important official assingment.
Nonetheless,I hereby commend the ANA,the organisers of the gathering as well as ALL the peaple behind the kanoOnline.com. As an indegine of Kano State,I am proud of the web site.
I finally wish you all an enjoyable gathering that I blieve will facilitate meeting/knowing some of the kanoOnline.com members.

It is my ultimate expectation that this gathering will be a very good begining and significant reference to higher tidings of the targeted members.I also hope that reasonable and important issues will be discuss and members get socialize fruitfully such that each and every one leave the venue with a smile ,looking forward to another day for a repeat.This, to my knowledge, will be the first cyberist gathering.May it be bless and leave an indelible marks not only in our hearts and minds but in our soul too.May the ulmighty ALLAH see us through.---Bissalam
I am happy :D and sad :-[ all at the same time. well I think it's really nice that there's going to be such a get togehter but I am not happy that I will not be able to attend. how I wish it could have been like to month ago. I wish all a great time and even though I'm not going to be there in flesh my sprit will be there so I can also be honoured with out my body being present ;D

I think it would be much better and cooler for you to be under the Tree shade instead of under the Zinc. It is very hot under the Zinc because those bags contain grain of husked Rice and it is inside the Zinc that the rice is being de-husked... Also, only Soda (Minerals, Soft Drinks) and cookies (Biscuits) will be provided at this occasion. If you want Tuwo da Miyar Kuka or Shinkafa da wake or 'DanWake or Tubani, then there is a Kidan Uwar Tuwo joint not too far from the vanue...

Thanks for being able to come to the reception and Get together. It was a pleasure to have met you and all others. As for the photograph, your are partly right, but it is a rice grain de-husking station and market not at the largest grain market in West Africa (Dawanau, Kano State), but in 'Karfi along Zaria road out side Kano before you get to Kura...

I must congratulate Kanoonline.com and Association of Nigerian Authours for the success recorded on Saturday, and ofcourse Congratulations to the Zaria contingent that came and conquered kano in the peotry contest, kai ! things are fast changing, kano use to be 'ko da me kazo an fika............' I wonder what happened! Kano is in bigger trouble next time from Katisanawa..............
I was elated to meet some of those giants who have been hidding behind the computer screen bormbarding us with very useful stuff to read. My biggest catch was Magaji Galadima of Gamji.com.
I was expecting masa, gurasa, kilishi, zobo etc, etc., amma ina 'soft drinks and biscuits' were served during agenda number 7. Had I known that the Kanawas would fail to provide gurasa, etc., I would have suggested that the Zage-zage bring along 'Walahan' or rather come with my fura da nono. For somebody who travelled all the way from Gombe I was expecting something traditional, anyway AlhamdulilLah.
Well, overall I found my journey quite adventurous and fulfilling. Glory be to Allah (SWT) for that memorable occassion. I hope other people's journey have been safe and sound like mine.

It was really nice cuz i got to meet some ppl i only knew online and also met some i have not seen 4 a very long time ,gaskiya it was very nice, kuma some of us da ba su samu zuwa ba Allah ya ba su ikon zuwa na gaba(Ameen).Amma dai kanawa sun ji kunya zazzagawan sun debe komi ,i only nhope next time yan bauchi za su kwashe komi ,ko da yake dan bauchi ya dauki daya ;)

It has really bean a great pleasure.
So everybody wants to come next time and pick the 1st prize. OK, I will go get all our ppl here in Zaria, we will have sleepless nights studying the works of of our grand parents. From Late Aliyu Dan Sidi and Aliyu Namangi including those who wrote in Arabic like Ma'aji Ishaku and Waziri Umaru Rahmatullahi Alaihim, we will cram evrything and come and finish ya all.
We will also get all the contemporary poets who write real poetry unlike Waziri who is only a poort who writes poor-try...Mhm.. some ppl are in 4 a shocker ;)
On a more serious note now. I really congratulate the management of Kanoonline.com, ANA kano branch and the panel of judges for the succeses recorded that day and most importantantly I thank them for taking notice of my endeavours.
I also thank all those who have taken the time to say a word of congratulations to me appreciating my humble work of poor-try.
When I got home that day an aunty of mine asked me as to what I have done to Kanawa to deserve that honour done to me. She told how my uncle Wali Aminu served the Kanawa with maximum integrity in their judiciary before they could give him the title of Walin Kano and how my cousin Abubakar worked hard in the University(BUK) before they could award him the academic title Professor.
I really was speechless but yet felt burdened, and eternally indebted to Kanawa for their service to Islam, North, and Hausa-Fulani in general.
Thanks to Prof., Ibraheem Ado, Yusuf Adamu, Webmaster and all those who came from Bauchi, Katsina and other places thereby making the honour honourable.
Thanks, of course, to those departed builders who founded this our civilisation. As my poetess friend would say:
