The October ruling of the Supreme Court of Nigeria over
the Governorship of Rivers State has made its landmark
in the history of judiciary and politics in Nigeria.
However, from a critical angle, a substantial injustice has
been meted out to the general public. Their judgement as
an apex court of the nation will still be referred except if
the case is revisited.
What I expect from the Honourable Judges of the Supreme
is to nullify the election in its entirety and order a fresh
election.
However, we await the Judges reasons for this judgement
come January 2008.
On the 20th of this month, the case of Yobe's Governor,
Senator Mamman Ali will also be ruled. I just pray the
Hon. Judges will put the interest of the electorates into
consideration.
