Title: Nigeria and the Olympic Games
Post by: HUSNAA on September 02, 2008, 10:30:45 AM
Over two billion naira has been expended on Nigeria's participation in the just concluded Olympic games. The payoff from the massive injection of funds were three medals (that is collectively considering the individual soccer silver medals as a single medal). The EFCC is beginning to smell some hydrogen sulphide odour emanating from that direction and wants to have a better sniff..er look.
You go girl!  Farida Waziri, catch those rats!

That really was a waste of money for unworhty venture. That really was a shame to Nigeria or Africa at large, for I heard no country from Africa did up to expectation. We all ended with nothing, absolutely nothing tangible as prizes.

Why that? We should ask ourselves that very question, I think. I wish I knew why. LOL

The current EFCC boss, Farida Waziri, seem to have been working industriously. I wish her all lucks in fishing out those involves.

Actually the Ethipians and the Kenyans did quite well in the long distance races. They brought home gold for their nations and I can bet everything I have that they didnt spend a tenth of what Nigeria spent for the olympics

Well, I forgot that, Husnaa. But, as I heard from BBC's First Track, a program about Africans performances in sports, Africa did not do well, at least up to expectaion, statistically.

Yes. I believe they didn't spend much of what we did. But, kin manta ne kuna da kudi than these countries? LOL ;D

2 Billion is alot of money.
I'm sure it was spent on the tickets and refreshment of the so so many government officials that would be sent to observe the olympics.

Actually Zimbabwe won a gold medal and world record in swimming.
The winner was given $100,000.
