I think the KNliners should contribute and organise the get-together, we should not leave it to Mallam Salisu.

Muda, Bakan-gizo, GGK and Muhsin should form the LOC and come up with cost estimate and other proposals there after we can proceed. I am open to other suggestions.

Very funny. Seriously the idea of a get together is nice. But I doubt if it wold heppen. The problem is who's gonna pick up the gauntlet and organize it?

Well i think if we really put our heads together we can come up with something tangible, some of us are well connected, and such we could make it a reality.

The basic thing we need is a time & date, Hall, refreshments, some distinguished guest and the programme which will include some paper presentation since kanoonline is alwaya about learning. Once we can do this then its done! dont you think?

You are right. Sounds simple put that way. But who has time on their hands to organize? I believe that's the crucial aspect.

You certainly have said it all, Muda. Thats exactly my plans for that meeting. Though, we have been since discussing the issue @ General Board with massive effort and support from Nurudden, Waziri and few others for a quite long time. But it hasn't still come to being. Wish and hope this time around...amin.

(2). Waziri: plausible solutions to poverty in Northern Nigeria
(3). GGK: How to reduce and eliminate broken homes
(4). Bamalli: Attaqwa: The daily of Muslims
(5). Saddiq to speak on 'marriage Crashers'
e.t.c
Discussants: Prof., Mallam Salisu, Ibro, Muda, Waduz, etc.

Cost: 50 persons: meals 50*2000, accomodation? = Prince or Tahir , because of people like Dan-barno who may decide to bring their families- therefore everybody should take care of themselves
Other costs: venue, logistics, prizes, etc = N200,000.

I think the cost may not exceed N500,000,

That was a nice blue print EMTL, but the cost is waaay too much. Irin wannan ai sai gwamnati ;D For starts, the participants may not reach the 50 you estimated. Secondly, N2000 per meal? :o What are we eating? Farfesun dawisu? ;D As for accomodation, forget Tahir, Prince and the like. Get a 'cheaper' place. Make everything as simple as possible, and we are on.

Lest I forget, I would pass on the LOC Chairman. But thanks for the nomination  ;D

I think what we should do to get us started is to invite members on the board to give us their opinions on the period or date of the event, if that is established, then we could start prepairing the meetings in oder to beat the time, am i making any sense?

i am suggesting two (2) dates which falls in
the month of December, 2008.

1.  The Eid El Kabir day which might fall between
     9th and 10th of December, 2008
or

2.  25th and 26th of December, 2008 which is the
     Christmas day and also a public holiday.

any other suggestion?

Last week we had our OLD boys (GSS Funtua 19xx) meeting at ABU, Zaria. Just about 20 of us. It started about 4.00PM and was concluded by 6.15Pm after a BbQ opposite the ABU Dam. It was simple: minutes of last meeting read, Chariman's speech- a paper presented by one of us- some gifts for some of us. Then sai kowa ya nemi wuka ya yanki rabonsa a jikin ragon da aka kawo. I personally invited some two of our KNLine friends. Waziri and Mafia manager- many thanks.

Can we do something simple like this? Or Can we conbine it with Ajingi's wedding Walima? I can host it at Ashaka.

Therefore, Apart from being an opportunity to meet some good old friends, schoolmates and classmates, it is also a great opportunity to exchange pleasantries and addresses – another linkage that would strengthen our relationship. The condition of some schoolmates, some flourishing others in need of help bring smiles or tears and thus the need to help-one-another. At least, someone would have called you with a school-day nickname. Astonishingly, some of my classmates still call me 'K........'. I thought some years were enough to make someone forgets those little things, I then remembered what a wise man once said, '' The passing of time has produced Grey hair in the young, decay in the aged; As the Night wear out its Day, Soon enough comes a man's doomsday.'' Another intelligent poet also said, ''Years pass by with beloved ones in happiness, As if days they were in their briefness, Came days later of separation from beloved ones, As if years for their length indeed they were, Those tenants (of Time) pass away as did those years, As if the years and the peoples but dream they were.''..............

How far is ashaka from potiskum.Will it amount to spending the night there?

We need to get serious about this if we really want it. But like DB suggested, the date should be made to coincide with a public holiday.

This thing seems to me quite difficult to be well arranged untill, as outlined Bakan~Gizo, we take the issue a bit more serious. And yes public holiday will rightly suite the meeting's date best than any other day. But, as also mentioned Muda, December is anyway far. Can we or you DB think of any other time mid of the year?

Again, uban tafiya EMTL comes up with another idea of combining it with Ajingi's wedding walima. Well...when is this? And at Ashaka...another thing. Gaskiya ya yi nisa. Naga GGNK ma feels something akin to this since he started asking questions.

Muhsin, the December date is more appropriate, may be
u were thinking its too long, but its never so considering
the arrangements and timing so that by the time, every
one will be free.   The only public holiday i can remember
i think is the Eid El Fitr 2 days public holiday which i doubt
members will accept.

The issue of merging with Ajingi's walima does not arise,
however, members may wish to attend but not on the
pretext of kline get to gather.

I still stick to DECEMBER.

Was it not recently that EMTL or DB said something about admin getting married? Lets be frank, i think we will overstress him if we actually want him to put his hands on this issue, we ourselves can figure out how to go about it.

Infact, i was thinking, we should either volunteer or nominate officials who will take responsibility in conducting meetings so as to move the plan forward through setting up online conference meetings on sites like yahoo messenger, this way we could have live meetings and not necessarily having to move from our present abode. Through the meetings, i believe we would progress extensively in the planning of the get2gether, we just need to volunteer or nominate, that would be a start. What do you think?

With the power bestowed upon me as the Generaral Overseer of Kanoonline, the Mouse and the Cursor, i nominate You...DB, my most loyal official lol, to Head this commitee, you will work hand in hand with Gogannaka, you two make a good tag team, he is your favourite kickback, you two stay online more than anyone in this forum apart from the admin, i also nominate Mushin (the only yaron aunty) who has shown dedication and concern for the progress of this community, these are my nominees and myself ofcourse...lol, and i will like to conclude that the nominees i choose are not the only ones that will make the committee, the ground is open for people to counter the motion and nominate their own candidates, we should consider gender too, its only that i couldnt find any female who stays constantly online apart from Husnaa whom at this point i strongly agree that she's carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders and as such would not comply due to limited time.

Haba Mushin, you are making it sound like the end of the world, And i have been back in town for about 3 weeks now, besides we can do this without having to meet in person, we can simply chat, or you can go try find out your own prices and i find out mine and we compare the most decent and affordable one and decide it and report back on board. @DB, i just wanted to suggest, no offense but concerning the venue, why do we have to spend money to rent a hall or venue when we can choose out of the number of outdoor venues we have in Kano that will be proper for a barbacue? I know places we can use which is very decent and ideal and could be affordable...hehehe if not FREE  ;D what'you think?

The issue of this venue should be taken seriously,
Muda, you suggestion is noted, however, the
venue must be free from all forms of restriction, becauses
as i earlier mentioned we are really going to have

I am suggesting Alliance Francais de Kano, No kidding, its a nice place in Nassarawa GRA, i have a very strong leg there that we might not be paying if i negotiate properly, free of charge if you know what i mean. It has an open space kind of class if there will be need for any paper presentation, it also has an indoor, if it will be raining, it also have a big spacious outdoor that we could use for our pic-nic event, infact...it has a barbacue which we can use to gasa our rago. All we need to do is to select a date which should be on a Sunday morning time, if i can make this happen, will you agree? ;D

Its a disputable fact Muhsin. Give over. You are not the youngest. Ameera is younger than you by at least 4 yrs! Kuma in danta uncles and aunts ne, wanda a ka haifa yanzu ma sai ya kasance an uncle and aunt the way our society operates so that is no pointer to age, kuma ko kai kanka, I'm sure you are an uncle, dont deny it, unless u are an only child.  Wasnt your sister recently married ne? I remember u informed us something to that effect. So if u are not an uncle right now, you soon will be, as in our society, postponing giving birth the moment a bride enters into her husband's house is not something practiced often. Infact adduar mutane itace Allah Ya Kawo kazantar dake (what an addua lol!) Kuma inda kai bafillatanin daji ne da yanzu kana da diya biyu or so, as they tend to marry in their teens.
Remember another thing every second makes u older than u are, so one day,we will all be equal in looks if  not in age, after all duk abinda ake ma kenan trying to keep the aging process at bay. Just make sure you age gracefully that is.... ;D

Dont forget to book space in the restaurant for so many guests so that you dont go to one and find its already jam packed. Find out how many are concretely attending as well. I suggest that since everyone is going to be paying for his meal which isnt a bad thing in itself, why dont u put a flat rate and collect the money in advance from  attending members ( that ensures commitment as well). Then negotiate with the restaurant for a discount on the meals since they are getting cash in bulk and let them either cook up something in general for everyone to eat or just have a discount coupon on the food items on offer in the restaurant.

Seriously? N162,500? Thats encouraging EMTL. But I still think the budget is way too much for this, here is my veiw: N1500 per person is too much, with this amount in hand we can just buy drinks, lets say per person not more than N500 worth of drinks. Then we should use the rest of the money to get that goat we earlier planned, we wouldn't spend more than N25,000. This way we can have a barbacue there and then, we can even arrange for a mai nama to help us do it so we dont staine our agbadas.

MOreover, i still maintain to hold it in Alliance Francais de Kano because i have the power to convince the manager so we can use the place free of charge, it has a large outdoor space for the barbacue and an indoor for the lectures, british council is ok, but we would not be allowed to grill our meat. If you want security, we can use part of the remaining money to arrange for security at Bompai Police Station, some N3000 will do. Allaiance is more spacious than British Council, there is also a generator too, all we need do is get  fuel, its the perfect place, just give me the go ahead and i'll make it happen, i only need a fixed date sharp-sharp. What do you think?

Anyway, am pleased with progress being made. Allah (SWT) Ya bamu dukkan alkhairi.

Engineer, welcome back from hajj mabrur, and as
you can see, we deliberately delayed the GTG so
that the likes of you who are on hajj to come back.

The issue of public lecture or presentation as widely
debated is now OVER, the GTG has been reduced to
a GTG as the name implies, which will allow members
to discuss further on ways to further the cause of
kline in the future.

For now, Alliance France in Kano is the venue of the
GTG, Mudacriss dan Tarmuwa has since booked the
venue for the GTG.

We intend to take on little snacks, drinks and possibly
a whole bunsuru berbecued (tell one of your dogari
to come with a knife, because we wont allow His
Royal Highness to cut meat).

the tantative date is 3rd January, 2008

Time is being deliberated and soon will be communicated
to all forumites.

I can see we are making lots of progress - thanks Mr. Chairman (Danbarno and his team). AlhamdulilLah. We agreed with Muda on the cost of the Ram for the BBQ - and Insha Allah I will pay for this. Muhsin should check his UBA bank act and confirm transfer of the money for the BBQ(ram). What other Meals? Alkaki, Zogale, etc.
Now that Muda is still in kano I will suggest that he (Muda) meets with Muhsin, Dan Maigona, Sheikh/Hashim and GGK and finalise every thing. The only other things required are soft drinks, sound system, banners?, IV (sms?), and topic for the lecture/discussion.

Salam. First, I have to apologise for my inability to pass commentaries on the long awaited and much talked about K-online GTG. Alhamdulillah, lots of ppl have contributed one way or another. Allah ya saka muku da Alheri. I think all of us deserve commendation.

I was away trying to compose a small handbook on Nigeria titled "REDEFINING MOMENTS IN THE PROJECT NIGERIA FOR 21ST CENTURY: ESSAYS FROM MY YOUTHFUL EXUBERANCE". And I was trying to get fully in touch with my  book reviewers and proof readers. But Masha Allah it's no longer an issue. Hope to launch it in January or February. Gov. Lamido will in sha Allah be my chief host. Prof Abdullahi Mahadi or Abdallah Uba will be the ones to write the Forward. I am yet to talk to Prof Abdalla though.

Anyway, that's a subject for another day.

I think what we arrived at with EMTL is to sponsor the GTG i.e the two of us. However, when I discussed with him this afternoon, he said some members have declared interest to help on board. So we now feel like contributing our own quota individually.

For me, I will align ma self to the Drinks issue. Will in sha Allah discuss with the EMTL before sending my money to Muhsin, Gogannaka or whoever is in charge. I will not disclose how much am gonna pay but will just send something for the eminent ladies and gentlemen. We shall return to this point soon

On the issue of changing dates, I think it's not good to be "dilly-dallying" around without the TEMERITY to arrive at a COMMON STAND POINT. We are all one house beyond debating on an issue that has been witchunting us over time.  

We need to be realistic here: Admin has asserted elsewhere that he may not be able to attend on 3rd January, but we have to look beoynd the banal and protracted problem by making compromise. I think if the Master of the Kanoonline web is not coming then we shall rest our case and be onlookers, and also await for the day when miracle will happen. So really we need to look at the efforts made by each and everyone of us here. One thing that I know is HUMAN MANAGEMENT IS A VERY DIFFICULT AREA TO TACKLE ESPECIALLY WHEN DEALING WITH PPL FROM DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS. So we need to tread softly about this date of a thing. I am simply saying that if we keep on changing dates, some will simply be discouraged and cannot just attend.

Nonetheless, I am not against changing dates, because some of us have a very strong reason to err bcos its human. And I think their reasons have to do with family and other matters of utmost personal importance, which they know better.

Now back to the issue of DRINKS. I will in sha Allah unveil my committment tomorrow or next for the honourable members. I know ppl like DB, and Muda are eager to hear what the lad is ready to offer.Lol!!!!!!!!!!

After consultations with some members of the forum we have decided to hold the get together on the 27th of December 2008.
Already,Muda, who booked the venue for the 3rd has backdated the booking to the 27th now.

I think the date slated, that is, 27th December 2007 is good enough. I also think the commitee should include good dishes like Zogala, Rama and Kuli-Kuli in the pool of what to eat there, for the pride of our land and as a dedication to our ancestors. Plus the fact of the nutricious and medicinal content of such foods whose discovery is credited to our ancestors not another whiteman, egg head, prof. 

Also according to Abubakar Imam, in Magana Jari Ce, 'yan kama said, "tsamen dawo yana sa k'arfi", so a good grade of fura da nono should also be their. If not, Waziri will not tell about the new discovery that says:

In Qur'an truly Hausa Land and housa people are mentioned and there is even a sura named Surat- Azzariyah! Which shows that Zaria people are greater than the Kanawa even in the sight of God.

Again and on a more serious note now. I don't think there is need for us to give the paper presenters any topic of our choice. Let's just leave them to pick what worries them and they feel like sharing with us with the view of making an improvement in the collective life journey of Hausa/Fulani across the globe. You know we have alot of problems which I am sure the speakers have noted in one way or the other. Let us then hear from them their perspectives please.

Wish you have been doing just great and preparing for coming to my/our ancient city of Kano--ko da me kazo an fika. Gari mai mata mai mota. Gari in ba Kano ba dajin Allah! ;D

Alhamdulillah. We certainly are making much progress as you can see. And on that I want to say more. Although much have been already said by my older and elder members of this great forum.

Concerning the lecture; we've arranged that only Nuruddeen and Ranka ya Dade (EMTL) are going to deliver lectures there. Why? We discussed it with other members that we are not going to GTG just to listen to paper presentation by members and we are not staying for more than two hours, I think there. The ultimate goal of it all rest upon meeting one another, chatting on real ground, etc, etc, etc. Thus, considering that fact, we rather stipulate the presentations to two papers. And I know both Nura and Engineer are willing to do it. And will inshaAllah do it.  That is what Professor suggested also.

Sai kuma me? My new chairman naga has said everything we discussed. Sai dai in da wani bayanin na kara.

Our thanks to Nura Jibo and EMTL for their abun alkhairi. May Allah reward them da mu gaba daya handsomely.

To support individual members in its capacity as a harbinger of love and hope.

MISSION STATEMENT

Kanoonline Association is the name given to the body of ideas first worked out by four people commonly known as the four dwarfs. In their totality, their ideas provide a fully worked-out online basis for the struggle of the working and non working classes to attain a higher form of human society—socialism.
While the conceptions of the Association have been subsequently developed and enriched by the online historical experience around the globe, the fundamental ideas of members of the Association remain unshaken, providing a firm foundation for the active Kanoonline movement today. Neither before, nor since the number of years of its conceptualization have any superior, more truthful ideologies been advanced to explain the movement of online society, the role of its people in cultural, socio-economic and political awareness than what is obtainable today. The Association is therefore equipped with the proletariat theoretically and practically minded people with great online historic task of the socialist transformation of society.
It is this fact which explains the constant and bitter attacks on all aspects of Kanoonline topics which are delivered by every conceivable defender of the existing social and democratic order--from the Tory to the Fabian, from the Jesuit priest to the University professor. From the very spleen of these attacks, to the fact that they have to be kept up continuously despite the fact that every single one of the membership pundits in turn exposes what is in his/her mind for public consumption on the general or specific Kanoonline boards. Its a big surprise, but they did it on saturday at kano and the outcome
is encouraging.

peace who is absent physically but spiritually with us.  these men deserve
a standing ovation, these men are men with the heart of gold, they are
visionary leaders who were naturally born to guide.  may they enjoy their
last days in good health, happy marriage life, obedient children and very
very fat bank accounts - i say amen as i pray.

another round of applause also goes to his royal highness, engineer, alhaji
mr. mijin senator and baban mu'azzam popularly known in kline as EMTL
yaro mai halin dattawa baka zama da tsohon najadu ko na wukari.  his
immense contribution towards realising this GTG is highly acknowledged.

another set of trio young, brilliant, tallented but bachelors also graced the
occasion in style and pride; they are; in order of seniority in the field of
bachelorhood - Gogannaka, Waziri and Nuruddeen (dan autan marubuta)
all in their happiest mood also grace the occasion. waziri, the famous writer,
analyst and barden yan arewa in all online forums - i am glad to announce
his new title from the palace of durbin funakaye as dan masanin kanoonline.
Gogannaka, my one and only friend, you are the only mosquitor in my net
and sugar in tea, the most gentle and humble kliner ever (highly recommended
to the single ladies wallahi) ga tsafta, iya sa kaya, ga murmushi - kai ba a
cewa komai - sai an taba akan san na kwarai.  Dan Jigawa, Nura Jibo, the
only surviving critic of saminu turaki despite saminu's effort in reviving the
new world by building the most tallest building in jigawa, Nura a young and
professional consultant turned freelance journalist, very hard on the papers
but softer than anything physically also stormed the occasion and delivered

in a big way after several speculation as to who bakangizo is.  this guy is
one hell of a guy, the most tallest and handsome  kline member.
(ladies, ba sa ido, he is already married to four wives, so no room yarinya
come tomorrow).  his attendance shows how committed he is, despite being
the best friend in his friend's marriage.  kanoonline tana godiya.

mudacris, now repented and a certified islamic evangalist and proselytizer,
the highest paid corps member and a historian turned computer consultant,
(however, he is wanted in a tarmuwa local govt of yobe state for questioning
over a missing fulani lady (details will be released to members soon). 
your efforts towards organizing this event will forever remain in our hearts
especially the conducive atmosphere of the venue you gave kline free of any
charges - the admin and entire members of kline mandated me to tell you
these words  - "mun gode Allah ya saka da alheri" as for your intention toget

Dan Megona, the inactive active member also played a vital role in organising this
memorable occasion.  he headed the sub-committee on food and snacks and he
did it very well to the satisafaction of prof.  the zogale and lansir got the highest
number of patronage by the married men at the occasion, may be Bakangizo can
shade more lights on its importance to the human body - but why only married
men are interested in the green zogale, i demand full explanation from prof & EMTL.
Dan Megona, admin yace a gode maka, professor kuma yace admission dinka
na jami'a za a aika maka har gida, sa'annan kuma mai girma durbin funakaye
yace an baka lifan to ease your mobility, amma do not go beyond the kano walls.

Auwal, popularly known as Diso, though havent met online, but his records speaks for
themselves also attended the occasion.  in fact, his attendance  has made the
occasion more vibrant and interactive, the likes of disos encouragement will go along
way in establishing a concrete forum with bright future.

Akramakallu Ustazu mai kokari, Anas aminin yaron aunty also attended the
occasion and as usual in his akramakallu style.  godiya muke da halartar wannan
taron.

Arubuta, farin balarabe whom we mistakenly took for bakangizo was also present
at the occassion.  arubuta, let me say thank you when you assisted me during the
video recording while i was busy delivering my lenthy paper presentation.

only two beautiful ladies attended the occasion, one was hauwa maijidda and the
other one is fauziyya, they are discouraged and dissapointed with the turn out
of ladies as if the occasion is a men cult organisation.  however, dan megona and
two among the trios of ........ i go give una gist.  interested person should send me
a PM for an unedited version of what happened.

Aunty Husnaa is not with us physically, amma she is with us throughout the occasion,
she spent her remaining dollars on the phone with us for over 20 minutes and almost

your son dedicated a whole poem for you which he tore when he realised that GGNK

1. Is there a reason why this was recorded on mute?  How are we supposed to know what those folks were saying?
