Our parents in their days were very lucky;
One or two liaisons and they all got hitched.
But tattered and worn is this heart of mine
'Cos too many heartbreaks took out its shine.
If there's still a piece of heart in this ribcage,
Then I hope it wont be broken; not at this stage!
This heart of mine is all tattered and worn,
So I 'bind' any force that'll make me more forlorn.
'Cos if another dandy lad gives me but a wink,
You wont believe it but I may be down in a week!
So I refuse another of those messy heartbreaks,
That what's left of my heart might remain in its cage!
