We welcomed our land,
and let you stay to make merry with our clan,
when you came we smiled and cheered,
instead you scowled and cringed and sneered,

We gave u bronze, ivory fruit from our trees,
you gave us death, sickness and incurable disease,
you beat us down then you started to gloat,
watched us while we rowed your boats,

You made us wage war... on a smaller clan,
then sold all of us away to the evil white man,
I wondered why you did such a thing,
It was hard to believe we were the same colour skin,

you were loved and admired and respected,
but you let us die and be rejected,
you killed as if you could love no other,
you separated kids from their mother.

I was blind in the beginning, I couldn't see,
that you were once treated like me.

So so interesting
Like the first one I wrote
I dropped it at the back of my hands
Now I can't get it off my mind
I scratched my papers
To give me memories of a better tomorrow
With a better understanding
Riding along with the wingless angels
We've rolled through imaginations
Set back into the future history
Both beauties of my testimonies spoken
Touching the later world of now
Who can I convince more
When the youths listen to love songs of old
Take me back to where I belong
Where we speak languages and it's camouflaged
They do not understand me anymore
Crystal clear I'm the lost one in a lame man's world
And what I do, I'm about losing it
I'll fight the fight of survival and grow old with it
Because I was born to do it
Poetry is where I belong

Hunger is etched
on the minds of everybody
and poverty stalks the land
while desperation plagues the soul
as children's laughter
battle the uncertain future.

These are days
where the sun reflects
the atrocities of humanity
on nature
and on humanity
for love is lost
and hatred universal.

If for a day
we but play
and forget swords
and stop words
then maybe
tomorrow's eve
would be our kindred
and free us from hatred
as daily for gain
to reachse we cause pain
all in seek of wealth
fabled to bestow health
but is this true
or are you free
with stark poverty manifest
every where you seek to rest
while living is a confusion
breeded by mans' isolation
from the ancient echelons
that wrought divine thrones,
and here we are
afraid to dare
for the very silence
is a plague of violence
so we pray
not to stray
for just a moment
fearing the torment
to our vaunted goals
and deprived souls
