General Board / Kwankwaso CANNOT be tried successfully.
« on: December 18, 2004, 07:52:15 PM »
"...duk wanda Allah ya haska, babu wanda ya isa ya dusashe..."

                                          - mal. Ibrahim Shekarau

These words of the executive governor of Kano state exactly amplifies the same meaning with Mai Daji Sabon Birni's poetic admonition:that whosoever God decided to bless with power (or any blessing for that matter),it would be foolish to challenge or ridicule his authority.I think this was what the former governor,Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso tried to signify by his unbecoming rebbufing and his eventual refusal to appear before the administrative panel that was constituted to clear some gray areas that concerns some vital issue of governanace. And i believe that is exactly why Kwankawso was actually TRIED.

The issue that was the bone of contention as we all knew, was the position of treasury of the state when Kwankwaso was driven out of power by the votes of Kano electorates. The defeated governor claimed in his handing over notes that he left N3.9bn,while the incoming ANPP government instead, found N347m only. This fundamental discrepency in the actual amount of money left by the out going government compelled the Shekarau govt to invite Kwankwaso for an "explanation",but the democratically perplexed water engineer, refused to comply, perhaps not believing that his ertswhile P.S cum class room teacher could summon him for anything.

Worthy of note again, was the sadistic last minute projects(may be counted among the over 600) that the defeated governor instituted at the verge of their moving out. These "projects" for all intent and purpose were done in order to frustrate the incoming government.Among the projects under discussion, were the senseless creation of additional 37 local governments, employing 1000 workers and last minute "completion" of projects.

All these as can be seen, were not done in good taste but were deliberately done in order to "punish" Kanawa for overwhelmingly rejecting the government.

The people naturally look up to the incoming government with an unprecedented high hopes and expectations. This ostensibly make the new government appear to be helpless in trying to grapple with the new and more challenging responsibilities. However, in trying to clear the "errenouos" impression that the Shekarau have no any excuse for not "building" on what they have been busy doing to an ungrateful Kanawas,Shekarau had to clear the issue of the 3.9bn fat treasury, hence,  the instituting of the probe panel.

Consequently,in a widely publicised public hearing of the panel's proceedings, damning and incridble tales were heard in which monies meant for students upkeep were wickedly diverted for selfish reasons. Moreover, shocking evidences also emerged on how "His lordship" ignores all laid down procedures, and informed advices, from his SSG and a late commissioner (may his soul rest in peace) on ecological fund. The former governor scandalously ignored the execution of more deserving projcts,he instead, resorted to constructing culverts!Despite all these, over 800m could not be accounted hence another need for him to come forth and clear his "hard earned" integrity.

As can be seen from the foregoing therefore, Kwankwaso was given an ample opportunity to clear his name and that of his government, but the man arrogantly rebuffed all the entrities.

Therefore, the issue now is wether the system would allow for the fair and just PROSECUTION of a publically and administratively indicted culprit. It remains to be seen wether kwankwaso would fear ALLAH and refund all the moneies that he knows are not legitimateyl his own.

As for his trial,i am afraid that he has already been tried by a duly constituted body and most importantly by people of Kano, who are now wiser to the kind of "leaders" they sometimes unfortunately had to bear with.

Then if he were "lucky" to jump the gun through the manipulation of our inperfect system,i believe that he and his type could never escape the just judgement and PROSECUTION of the supreme, WHO is all hearing all seeing.

I think i should come in at this juncture, seeing that Waziri's aobservation is being misunderstood.I balieve the import of his suggestion was that the advice being offered by Sas and the attendant responses should not be localised. It is a well known fact that it is not only Hausa speakers that visited this site, and also to my belief, it is not the intention of the facilitators of the site to make the site exclusive.

Therefore, sharing our discussions with non Hausa speakers does not and cannot in any way dampen our profficiency in the language.Saboda haka Sas,Waziri da sauran mu,duk dai Allah ya sa kowa aniyar sa ta bishi.

General Board / Should Kwankwaso face EFCC?
« on: December 08, 2004, 09:15:37 PM »
That was an excellent suggestion mallamt and myadudu.I also think that it would be great and far reaching for the sharia project to address the issue of Kwankwaso & Co.

Moreover, it would debunk the errenous belief that sharia is only for the poor. And it would also allow Kwankwaso to have a "first hand" experiance of the system he had disdained most while in office.

For in the sharia, lies an absolute justice and fairness.

General Board / Should Kwankwaso face EFCC?
« on: December 07, 2004, 05:55:46 PM »
The white paper that was delibrated and adopted by the Kano state Government on Justice A T Badamasi's probe panel, has indicted former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso for corruption. The former governor has been ordered to refund almost a billion naira to the coffers of the state government.Likewise, the government was also advised to drag the former governor to the fearful and no nonsense EFCC.

However,Kwankwaso rather belatedly, rushed to a Kano high court, seeking for an injuntion to restrain the Shekarau administration from implementing the recommendations of the white paper.

Opinions are now divided on wether the former governor should be allowed to face the much dreaded EFCC.While some observers are of the opinion that it is "nemesis" that is finally catching up with the former "tyrant" for "arrogantly" stepping on so many toes, while he was a governor;some analysts however, are of the opinion that Shekarau should forget about the additional humiliation of the water engineer.

The issue now is that should these probe findings be allowed to fizzle out just like those that came before them,or should the Shekarau government go the whole hog, there by setting pecedence that public office holders should henceforth be conscious of their actions while in office?

Layla,

What exactly do you  wish to know?

I mean i know about one or two things about the little country. Are you interested in knowing the people, their culture, the land marks, the best resort,or what?

All these, i believe, could be known by punching your key boards and dragging your mouse. However,if you are interested in obtaining an intimate knowledge of the country, then you have be explicit in your querry.

the peace conference is a charade. It's done for purely political reasons and I believe it will not achieve the desired results.

Buhari and Masari have every right to berate Northern Govnors but I dont think it's entirely fair to say they are solely responsible.

Those responsible are the politicians who see opportunity in genarating chaos.

Hope things will improve.....

Do you know this topic should change to hausa/fulani conference since the middle belt boycott the conference...

Assalamu Alaikum,

Dear forumnites, the following are the 13 places in the Qur'an where Allah mentions Christians. I bring this up for our Christian brothers to see for themselves what Qur'an says about them. Though many of the verses here are not easily understood without taking the context, the story line, in which they appear in the Qur'an. But some, of course, are statements that are very absolute and represent a strong closing remark about the relationship between Muslims and Christians. For example, in 5:82, it is said:....and you will certainly find the nearest in friendship to those who believe,  (to be) those who say: We are Christians; this is because there are priests and monks among them and because they do not behave proudly.

This verse actually is absolute in its categorization and it meanas to say an eternal truth. Thus my relationship with Christians is always guided by this verse. I hope our Christian brothers up here and other Muslims with particular reference to Al-Hamza will find meaning in what I believe should form  the paradigm, the worldview of all of us.

Thank you once again,
I remain most loyal

The Cow

[2.62] Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord, and there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve.

[2.113] And the Jews say: The Christians do not follow anything (good) and the Christians say: The Jews do not follow anything (good) while they recite the (same) Book. Even thus say those who have no knowledge, like to what they say; so Allah shall judge between them on the day of resurrection in what they differ.

[2.120] And the Jews will not be pleased with you, nor the Christians until you follow their religion. Say: Surely Allah's guidance, that is the (true) guidance. And if you follow their desires after the knowledge that has come to you, you shall have no guardian from Allah, nor any helper.

[2.135] And they say: Be Jews or Christians, you will be on the right course. Say: Nay! (we follow) the religion of Ibrahim, the Hanif, and he was not one of the polytheists.

[2.140] Nay! do you say that Ibrahim and Ismail and Yaqoub and the tribes were Jews or Christians? Say: Are you better knowing or Allah? And who is more unjust than he who conceals a testimony that he has from Allah? And Allah is not at all heedless of what you do.

The Dinner Table

[5.14] And with those who say, We are Christians, We made a covenant, but they neglected a portion of what they were reminded of, therefore We excited among them enmity and hatred to the day of resurrection; and Allah will inform them of what they did.

[5.18] And the Jews and the Christians say: We are the sons of Allah and His beloved ones. Say: Why does He then chastise you for your faults? Nay, you are mortals from among those whom He has created, He forgives whom He pleases and chastises whom He pleases; and Allah's is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, and to Him is the eventual coming.

[5.51] O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.

[5.69] Surely those who believe and those who are Jews and the Sabians and the Christians whoever believes in Allah and the last day and does good-- they shall have no fear nor shall they grieve.

[5.82] Certainly you will find the most violent of people in enmity for those who believe (to be) the Jews and those who are polytheists, and you will certainly find the nearest in friendship to those who believe (to be) those who say: We are Christians; this is because there are priests and monks among them and because they do not behave proudly.

The Immunity

[9.30] And the Jews say: Uzair is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!

The Pilgrimage

[22.17] Surely those who believe and those who are Jews and the Sabeans and the Christians and the Magians and those who associate (others with Allah)-- surely Allah will decide between them on the day of resurrection; surely Allah is a witness over all things.

so what is your point

Ridiculous,absolutely ridiculous!

Hey guys! can't you see that our "blind, deaf and dumb" mrguest does not even understand what Waziri was trying to highlight with the divine admonitions?

Our friend is in a serious need of prayers, so as to salvage him and his ilk from the "condemned",whom we were told that;"..seeing they see not;hearing they hear not..."

Waziri,i say kudos and may God bless your effort so that people like mrguest would understand.Amen!Amen!!

mrguest et al,

Now that a non Hausa/Fulani is at the helm, hadn't we experianced an unprecedented bloodshed in the country?According to a reasonable estimate, over 200,000 lives were lost as a result of religeo-ethnically inspired massacre, since the advent of Obasanjo govt in 1999, all ostensibily to exterminate the much hated Hausa/Fulani.

We are all witnesses to what had happenend in Plateu,in a seemingly well planned genocide targeted against the Hausa muslims.

Therefore, what mrguest was essentially saying was nothing but an outburst,or rather a slip of tongue on a well organised plan to exterminate Hausa/Fulani in the event that one of them should be elected to succeed Obasanjo, come 2007.

Thank God that non of the much publicised contenders to the throne is a Hausa/Fulani.Babangida and Kontagora are from the so called middle-belt, unless any other factor should determine who's a middle-belter or not.Likewise,Atiku and Marwa are from the North-east; from diffrent ethnic stock than your much hated Hausa/Fulani.

As far as i'm concern, the only Hausa/Fulani that campaigned and rigged out of the office, was the one and only internationally acclaimed incorrupitible Muhammadu Buhari.

Therefore, may i suggest that you come out a bit boldly and let the public know that your campaign is not being targeted against Hausa/Fulani,but against Muslims.Because i do not see why you would choose to ignore the fact that niether IBB nor Atiku are Hausa/Fulani.
