chit-chat / sweet melody
« on: March 07, 2008, 09:25:13 PM »
For weeks I see the Bob Marley thread floating about. I didnt say anything about it and I saw my friend Muhsin being bullied in it. Well this is a place where everyone can talk about all music, any kind or age, any style or genre. Good melody, good lyrics, good memories. If its good music and u like it, post it here and share ur sweet melodies, memories and lyrics with k-online.....

For me music is something that I store memories into. And mostly, by the rhythm and lyrics, fits almost perfectly into my life. Back in my teenage years, there was nothing like the backstreet boys and N'sync. Thier lyrics were great and the beats.....
My current best band is probably sum 41, and I cant get enuff of daughtery, especially home. I dont care wat ya'll say about Micheal Jackson, his music still rocks and there are so much more I will post away

I have been watching kyle xy recently, and there is this song that just fits my living scenario....she could be u. Thats the name. It starts like this:

 Haunted by this photograph,
 I dont know why.
And everytime I look I get shivers down my spine.
You r such a beautiful thing,
 I know cuz I....
u take me back in time.....
she could be you, and I wouldnt even know

I hope there is someone here who understands half as much as what I'm feeling.
P.S I'm not crazy

"The subject whom this poem was written for was born on Valentine's day and is at a distance"

Dear Miss Valentinia

How do you do my dear
forgive distance, you own my warmth and care
In the begining, they say begin
but I hold my protest within

How do I begin to utter audible words,
a feeling that conquered even kings and lords.
How do I beg my heart to willingly lend,
what my soul cannot possibly comprehend.
I search high and low so my pen may discover,
from eyes and lips of the loved and the lover.
With comfort it cuddles the cradle and grave,
in kindness it finds the coward and the brave.
In 'tis warmth life springs as summer reigns
among 'tis profit we all have gains
In 'tis name we often sheath our knives
And in 'tis melody we find the tune of our lives
I could go on with telling you this tale
But 'tis one you are probably known to hail
As you were born on the feast of Lupercalia,
You became Cupids kin beyond ancient italia.
Even as love found origins from your kith
Even as all this sounds like an old myth
In an undenying atmosphere
where love is in the air
I write this to wish you love
and more than you can think of

While honours and pleasures all remain mine
I remain yours with love, your Valentine
          Inspired by true love

History / Bayajiddah: Who were we...?
« on: January 19, 2008, 10:51:18 PM »
Actually there is a similar thread like this in the history sub-forum, I'm not sure if this one belongs there, here or the general forum. So the Admin in his grace will sort this out.
This is Kanoonline/Hausafulani online and there is one matter I would like us to discuss. First take a look at this post.

http://kanoonline.com/smf/index.php?topic=2685.0

You could reply here or there, wherever the Noble Admin decides.

Bayajiddah was a myth like many other myths, it was a way of keeping history down through time. To engulf everything in a metaphor and pass it down as stories.

We were terrible when it comes to documentation and preserving history, we still are. And the real accord of Bayajiddah may never be found. However, it may have been a man, not necessarily a prince, who defied a King(the snake) in his Kingdom(the well) being so cruel as to not let his people drink from the well, or was just cruel in other ways. And this man(the prince) fought the king, probably killing him in a coup. With so many plots involving the towns men and the kings...probably...youngest wife. After dethroning him, and the then Hausa kingdom, he then married the youngest wife, appointed himself King and sent down his generals or advocates to the other major cities to rule.

This theory is opened to suggestions. Some body please lay down know facts about Bayajidda for us, and then mythical stories too. Somebody please tell me when this allegedly happened, age or era.

Finally it is wrong to call him the father of Hausawa...afterall we did exist and speak and coexist b4 bayajidda, we were a nation before him, we do have a prior history than that...again open to discussions

If we want to know who we were, we have to reconstruct it with known facts, known legends, known myths, and our creative minds. We did exist ladies and gentlemen, can u answer me, who were we?

may Safety and peace be upon you all.

here is a lil something I'm working upon, its not much but I just wanna hear some honest reviews, criticism anything. And, there will be more....hopefully

Time has been a powerful mystery, every generation tries to manipulate its own time, but with little success. We settle to record our past and anticipate our future, leaving today to the darkness of neglect... However, it is today that we live!
                    Present time, Summer, Japan
My name is Hamarou, Hattori Hamarou! I turned 16 last Fall, and looking to study journalism at the University of Tokyo. I could have gone further east to the United States but I have obligations here, annoying obligations. Even as this rain falls to my deafening ears, I do wish I was born elsewhere, with a different fate.
The train stopped at the Hiyoshi train station and I was glad the noise sublimed. And there it was, again. I listen even more carefully, filtering out everything else, the train, the rain, the murmuring and the footsteps, the drainage, the chewing, the breathing, and all the many heartbeats of the six hundred and eighty two people in the station. Yes, I could hear it all, but I want to hear only one, the heartbeat that sings, the heartbeat of the girl with the blue ribbon. Soon I was able to filter it all and I could hear her footsteps, and her humming…she is beautiful, every time.
“Hamarou!” and the shout broke my concentration. I didn’t have to listen or look, it is Minorou.

Still quite on the sun, vanguard, thisday and the guardian.

I dont know what to say, I need to go currupt my mind for a while before I talk about this Mojisola of a woman and her shameless father...not to talk of the biggest dog that expected condolences of his late wife.
Its shameful to my generation....

safety and peace be with u all....(except the obasanjo family)

Damn the creature
Damn the creature, Oh lord.
The creature which calls your name in vain
To receive glory, honor and power
It knows not the responsibility of power
Nor the fragility of honor
Nor the price for glory
How it hastes to its mistakes, instead
I may forge forgiveness for my harsh condemnation
Alas, the creature is incapable of forgiveness
As it appears to abuse it's talent for survival
Bring forth the moment of truth
Until all notice shame and hopelessness
Let justice reign through all that breathed
Save the generous, the oppressed and hopelessness
Whose effort to inspire honor and sanity is punished
My campaign is a furious Faux Pax
Unless my eyes are cheated by a spell
I cannot deny kinship with this creature
Even as I carry burdens of my kith
I chase an end to rescue me
For my deepest fear is gaining on me
I shall awake one day with brute fangs
An appetite for greed and lust of living
and emerge the wretch I compete to be
I may wake to find myself one day
       become the creature
            I long detest.

Member Poetry / A Walk Through The Fields Of Gold
« on: June 03, 2007, 05:51:59 PM »
I did promise I will complete this, so on a fresh page, here it is...

A walk through the fields of gold.
   A tribute to Palestine

Red white and green, flow through this vein,
Help bring back to me the memory.
 I heed a brethren’s call, once upon a time,
When I walked through the fields of gold.

Our earth is fold with warmth to hold,
With sands so noble, the sands of gold.
The sounds of springs, the children’s laughter,
 Come fresh on my memory…

Shelter we run, for winter has come,
Customs undone to make a home.
We dance and dine, and rest in the cold,
With memories untold at the fields of gold.

Spring came fast and came to last,
Flowers and leaves sprang in the past.
But leaves so grey and flowers so black?

 To begin my misery…

Here we go, far behind,
Paid in full by a brother unkind.
With lies to flood, tears and blood,
Begins his wrath on the fields of gold.

Into terror, the blasphemy and horror,
Destroys a hero with hands of error.
To slavery and disgrace, graves and “all that”
 A mockery of history…

Time embrace so warm, earth with blessings and storm,
For me with wheat and barley and corn.
My children I plant, my blood I irrigate,
On once my fields, once the fields of gold.

Songs of war has filled the air,
 Grab a gear and say a prayer;
“…For my God, my nation, my country and I…”
 Do you hear the melody…?

All turns loom, I’m lost in gloom,
My dreams long drown with my silver spoon.
 My might is weak, my faith is strong;
A “sacrificial war” for the fields of gold.

Lord in you I trust a vow
Hear me now; a servant’s awe
No might or will, nor death or peril,
 Can change my destiny…

Here we go, far beyond,
 Atrocities of my world undone.
Winter is here, a moment so dear,
As white covers red on the fields of gold.

Light shines bright above the heights,
Spring, once more, gold on the floor.
The sound, the feel, the sense… so true,
 Come afresh a diary…

My fields are blessed, my guest is cursed.
For me, I manifest a divine test.
Joys so well, with much to tell,
As I walk through the fields of gold.

Science and Technology / Star Wars...and u.
« on: March 24, 2005, 08:35:07 PM »
Star Wars... the greatests Si-fi ever made, with a wonderful story contestable to any of our modern stories.
But why is it so unpopular? why isn't it adored like all the other movies?
Is it because its si-fi? why dont we want to understand si-fis? Is it becasue we dont want to believe it? Cant si-fis come to reality? what is real?
I leave the capital question mark to u!

chit-chat / Human Rights... and wrongs!
« on: March 24, 2005, 07:55:31 PM »

Hi folks, fellow humans. If we all are then lets talk about our rights... or should I say wrongs.
I'm sure alota people have come across the dividents of the human rights we share in this world. I'm enjoying this freedom of speech in which I tell the whole world here. But has anyone been a victim of human rights? yes VICTIM. Has it ever occured to anyone that not all the human rights are actually right, some of em are actually wrong!, wrong!! wrong!!! wrong!!!
Take for instance, the right of a person to change his/her gender:Transexuality, in as much as everyone has the RIGHT to change his/her gender, its still WRONG to the society and even to humanity! We support all the human rights including their wrongs, why?
Another example of homosexuality, why da **** do we have to tolerate such Wrong taboos in our human Rights, whats wrong with our right head?
Ok, the right to vote and be voted for, why dont prisoners vote, and get voted for... They could contest even if they wouldnt get any vote, but why cant they contest afterall the RIGHT said everyone has the right to vote and be voted for...no exceptions.
I'm sure there are a whole lotta Human Rights that we know are Humanly Wrongs. List them out here... or go do something about it.

chit-chat / If I were...
« on: March 20, 2005, 05:05:22 PM »

I was thinking... alotta people make wishes and dreams that are never answered or realised, yet again I want to believe many of us here are living witnesses that dreams do come true and some prayers are really answered. I mean you have made at least one wish or prayer which u hadn't regret still or isn't there?

Many of us wish good upon our comunities or selves or even nation, here is your chance to just dream it...think of any seat or position you would like to make an impact on which will in turn make an impact to ur society... make it good.

I'll go First:
If I were the president of the federal republic of Nigeria, I will invest alot in sports so that it could unify all Nigerians together to feel a comon identity. I'll ban all importations and let us do ours, import teachers if possible or train our own people to teach ours, we'll build a .... a star space station when we try.

haha... lets see u try
[/color] be good

Imaginary![/b]

Walking about realms through open doors,
I arrived one shut with a certain force,
so much, no mortal power can get across.
Suddenly I awake, nightmare or a living curse?
I set to verify where I am, about which course,
Set to understand what we do and what it does,
the paths we take and taken and for what cause?
Certainty and uncertainty, I thought is a source.
uncertainty of our life, future, and our laws.
certainty of death, faith and destiny, mine and yours.
My dream, my reality, I dont know which of worlds.
Ofcourse! imagination and reality are reversed.
Our paths are blurry for uncertainty we nurse,
So our slowly amputating spirit now roars
at the fury of its temple consumed in sores.
From the begining to the end of lifes own tours
In every attempt of humanity to get the scores
The rage of fleshy and sore temples burse,
driving brilliance to insanity, into wars.
What thought could take a mind so disperse?
I set again, to think of the worse,
and I rehearse.
But reality struck this imaginary verse,
right here, at my dying imaginary voice.
