Salaam all,
Maikilago is just a Kano-urban legend sort of thing, it is believed to be a demon that lives in the ponds that were scattered all over Kano city and feeds on small children. This I believed was coined by parents to discourage kids from swimming and fishing in the ponds. There are several legends similar to this in Kano, like the story of 'Yar-Madabo etc.
