Could you guess what I think is our country's biggest resource, which if developed will gurantee us a place in G20?

1. Human?
2. Agric?
3. Solar power?

Thanks for the timely warning Bamalli.

Hopefully, LED lamps will soon be competitive with CFL/incandescent lamps for home use. They are the ultimate solution in terms of energy-saving and safety.

In the meantime, lets just take appropriate precautions. Hmm, but who will take this message to the teeming multitude of children, almajire, etc, that regularly play with discarded bulbs? May Allah(SWT) continue to protect them as He protected us when we toyed with dangerous items at their age in fantasy plays.

Perhaps government, (Environment Protection Agency?) can compel all CFL bulbs to carry warnings and disposal instructions as is the case with health warnings on cigarette packs. Anyone with first degree contact with a commissioner, minster, governor...etc pls? Over to you.

Thanks gentlemen. Good topic, wonderful contributions. As usual, there is never a shortage of ideas on what is wrong with our country or the way forward.  Problem is, we talk too much. At the end of all the discussions and brilliant analyses, our job is done and the decay continues... How to break this jinx, this vicious cycle that has seen us regressing these past 50 years? Action, any action other than just talk.

Here is one idea: There seems to be a consensus that corruption is at the root of our problems. Lets sponsor a whistle blower bill in the National Assembly as one weapon to fight it. Let this bill guarantee protection/anonymity. Let it provide motivation in the form of some percentage of recovered loot.  Surely someone must know how we can get started on this right away!  (and if something like this already exist, lets publicize it, or, if need be, amend it to be more effective)

General Board / Re: Hausa Film......Wayforward?

This development is refreshing! :) Its back to basics. Hausa folklore is replete with action heroes too.  Will love to see these dramatised. It will be good to polish the subtitles a bit - I caught a few grammatical errors that could be a bit of a minus for purely non-Hausa viewers. Overall: great effort!!!  ;D ;D ;D Yaushe zamu ga Illiya dan mai karfi well acted, with effects n all?!
