There was no music as sweet as thy voice
There was no soft voice as cool as thy tongue
And as sweet as those would be

There would never be to the memory
When sweet music is gone
As soft as thy tongue

And the heart if tender be thy seat
Take no claim of unseated tenderness
It shall gladden the other heart
To come to congress when green is green
When nature's gold is turned
Under the womb of the earth

Then thy grace shall multiple be
And the memory cast a smile upon my face.
