Of Feminism and Feminist Movements

Huda,

I too share your sentiments about the whole thing, but I think the freelance has developed his thesis when he argued about feminism being a tool which shapes the thinking of a mordern woman towards seeing herself as nothing more than a sexual object. He even supported his claim with a link from another website. And as I see it, what he says rhymes with the current happenings as we see it in ?the western world today.

Now my major problem, since I do not believe him, is how I can deconstruct his thesis with practical ? examples and apt demonstrations just like he did his own. I am afraid Huda, we have to do it that way. If we cannot then we have no case. We will have to bow down accepting the humiliation of being absolutely defeated.

As one of my mentors puts it:

To every argument we have only three options.

1.      We agree and find reason to agree
2.      Disagree and find reason to disagree
3.      Or disagree and be in a state of perpetual doubts

It is unfortunate.

what happened to this topic. i was getting all set to air my prejudices n u ppl get cold feet. ok, men r better than women n feminist movements r a waste of time. only rich spoilt bored women who hav nothing to do particpate.
