assalamu Alaikum

Has it ever occured to you that, in almost everything Nigerians do, there is blatant disregard for proper procedure and the general lack of order.
Common amongst these are: Driving without license, evading taxes, paying and soliciting bribes, admisssion to Universities, contempt of court, lateness for class, inproper dressing for school, operating a machinery, skipping bills, littering the street, procrastinating, police bashing....... one can write a whole volume of these kind of activities.
But then I ask, "WHY?"  I mean in other African countries, Niger Republic for example, many of these things are not taken for granted because the 'gendarmes' or police are always there to check peoples excesses, at least in the cities.
While I am not canvassing a Buhari type approach to indiscipline, one has to indeed compromise and adopt a robust and vigorous approach.
The question then is, What is the solution to Nigeria's general distrust of government and inherent disbelief in the system? What, in your view, is the robust and vigorous approach that need be taken to ensure a more 'obeying & less anachic' Nigeria? Can it be achieved?

PS: Please, this post is meant to be purely social or societal and I dont intend to spark a " good president for Nigeria" kind of hysteria.
so please share your views with us.

As always, Bissalam.

Speakin of law and order.......consider these.....
d biggest crimes & d criminals takin up these criminal tasks...
Let bring our so-called Crime stoppers
Wat duz d law regard 2 violent attack, Rape, Murder, Drink & Drive, Drug use, Sexual harassment, Racial discrimination & all sorts......In Nija no one cares.
The police r d onces rapin inncent gurls
The police r d onces takin bribes
The police r d onces dicriminatin others on d grounds of tribe
The police r d onces payin off young juveniles  2 attack sum1 they disklike.
The police r d onces speedin off d roads with bloody sirens on & yet they juss want 2 avoid traffic squash upz.
Drug dealers who specialise in sellin crack, LSD Cocaine, Ganja & all.........well d last tym I heard amongst them was a top custom officer in one of them Nija airports.

Law.........mhmmm I personally dont think Nijanz will 4eva obey 2 law.....laws r lyk spider webs, they will catch, is it true d weak and poor but would b torn in pieces by the rich & powerful?

Tlkin of rags to riches........all those ppl that think they r fast superior 2 d poor.......they indeed also play a major role when it cums 2 bribery & corruption...A rich man will not waste his tym 2 pay off his son 2 get a place in uni, a rich man wud also give money to drive away free from d hands of d police...leavin d weak & poor in d hands of d police......well I say d police r juss pack of freeloaders....

Honestly speakin why bother about law and order......its juss sum sort of regulations written 4 d obedience of fools & d guidance of wise men. As long as I am aware...... Nijanz will 4eva keep breakin rules......cuz they say rules were neva intended 2 b rule...rules were made 2 b broken. Not 2 mention masu block head....!!!

Law & order r simply maintained in other coutries cuz every one is neutral in every aspect of life..In Nija it has 2 b d fast superior against d inferior......once u have d money u can pay ur way if d poor doesnt have a dym they will surely  ride on in a police car 4 free.

Injustice is wat is d obeyed order in Nija........They soooooo rely on injustice because in their eyes it is easy 2 bear cuz wat stings d most is justice itself!!!!!!
If @ all justice is a  law & order which is d truth in  action....then wat ounce of gud is justice when Nijanz dont wan2 follow d rules & regulations but keep corruptin d counrty will crap!!!!!

When everything is about bribery & corruption, selfishness, greed, blackmail, backstab, disloyalty, lack of faith in God, lack of human feelin, lack of sense of humour, wickedness, & d most one....lack of simply stickin 2 simply rules...like All driver shud please keep to d left lane...& u will c oga Nija...on every lane every angle of d road...avoid  .....u tell me how on earth will Nijaz maintain & obey d law and order?

Honestly, I feel disfranchised with d whole system of Justice, law & order dear counrty Nija.
Despite ur slammin, am still jammin!!!

Ummita am absolutely with you. To point out on the issues Nigeria face in terms of lwa and order. Sometimes its not the law makers who corrupt our society its the people. What is wrong with fastening your seat belt for your own safety? Only few people to that even when the law said that it would fine anyone seem without a seatbealt. Nigerians bigmanism would not allow them to even obey simple rules, they feel on top of the world. A reason why coutries like the European Union benefit from by ruling up there rules is that they simply make up these rules and they dont end up being the first people to break the rules.

In Nigeria when a criminal is caught for jsut stealing a sweet they wilkl set him on fire!!!! That is absolutely barbaric.I believe the best way to maintain law and order is to draw up rules that would be seen as just and fair so also reasonable. I also think sentencin people to death is not the best way to go baout maintaing law and order in Nigeria for criminals. In my own beliefe these criminal offenders or law breakers are humans who think the law imposed on sum criminal offences or every day life is not quite reasonable so the only way out is to break these rules. No one will hear them out so that is alos another reason why European countries & its citizens maintain their rules because the haver a well laid planned law, people are treated equally, everyone has a right to seek justice.....but in Nigeria only d vulnearable onces as ummita stated are left to fight on their own even when it turns out to be they are not guilty of a crime commitmed but the rich man is!!!!!..

That is because you hardly read books.

Law exists every where. Law exsists at home......the bread winner sets up laws & order 4 his family to adopt, stick & abide by it. In the work place an employer sets up rules for his employee........have u 4gotten what the disciplinary procedures in a work place are? Or have you 4gotten that even in d Human Rights Act, laws & orders exist......Or have u 4gotten what the rules in this forum says..........read it its up there!!!!! (I beta call d attention of d admin...that means u dont maintain d law set up by admin ko?) If u du then, u r definately maintain d orders cuz it states that no cursin or offeisve materials shud be in this forum. Or have you simply 4gotten that Shariah Law exists 4 a fact in  Islamicity. If all of the above is true......then I here by say that Law and Order exist in every vocabulary & in every aspect of lyf in Nigeria & amonsgt d citizens of Nija

...kai infact d whole world. & we have been obeying it & it  has been in existence since b/4 d stone age............During the prehistoric tyms & even durin d historic...ko ka manta cewa.......when money was not here there was sumthing called trade by batter....which is a fair & just way to exchange goods by the rule/.........Abeg venom go rest jare. Y wud I even xplain law & order 2 sum1 who denys d thruth in action.......kune yan bata gari sef (thats wat ma aunt calls those that dont stick 2 rule) & u r one (she laffs) 1 more example b/4 I vamoose, If I shud ask u 2 kill sum1 wud u du it? & if I ask you why wont you do it? What will you response be?

Well i do agree with u in that the bread winner sets up laws for da family. But ummita u r forgetting one very important thing we r talking about Nigeria not the rest of the world. In Nigeria this Human Rights Act thing u r talking about does not exist cause in nija u can kill some1 and get away with it as long as u have connection. The whole Shariah Law in nija I can tell u that its only the poor people and the religious people that do actually follow it. To the rest of the people mainly the rich1 it does not apply to them, they can do what they want and get away with it Y cause they have connections. ?

On the topic of me killing some1 i would have 2 say no I would not kill any1 not cause of da law but cause of my religion forbids it.

Law and order "lawilocus ordaratus" an animal that is extinct in Nigeria for more than a decade, and no hopes for the recapture of it from another world, but some how I see that ambition in a man called BUHARI. prehaps its a God saving once in a life time oppurtunity to fix up nija for good. If we r wise we shall utilise it.

So if @ all ur religion 4bids u 2 kill....isnt d laws of ur religion Shariah? & in & by no means u r stickin 2 it.!! Huh :o who told u d Human Righths Act doesnt exist in Nija? Thats y I c ppl troopin in2 Shariah court or other law courts 2 settle disputes about Land ownership or disputes b/w Tenants & their Landlord...........infact Venom.......in ur parents house I know 4 a fact u practise d HR Acts.......most likely when u were small & if u had elders who refuse 2 grant u what u want.......u myt take it futher 2 Mama & Baba inda zasu baka ryts naker............ ::). & ma point is......... :-/(dunno)

So if @ all people dont practise Law & Order....whose fault is it? Is it d fault of d law makers or simply d block heads that wont practise it!!!!! In Bible exodus, it states that, Life 4 life, Eye for eye, tooth 4 tooth In d qur'an its almost d same.........when one kills he too shall b killed........& from d way I c it every1 obeys this rule of course except murders, Robbers or simply physchos any reasonable man will not kill, because d LAW say none should kill with no genuine reason.

Yeah I du agree 2 when u mention d vulnearable poor ppl & d riches with rgds 2 Law........Dis tym I 100percently agree, no doubt....They {d poor} have 2 labour in d face of d majestic LAW, which 4bids d rich as well as d poor 2 sleep unda d bridges, 2 beg in d streets & 2 steel bread........

Yeah u r ryt Venom, d law grinds d poor & d rich men rule d law..... ::) & its d same in d whole world........Its d poor ppl who get d blame, Its d rich who get d gravy............& aint it all a bleedin shame 2 d so-called leaders of Nija ::).........even when I did blame d citizens 4 disobeyin d law, I still how ever blames those fast superiors b it Mr Richie rich or d leaders............

But still Venom.......(she laffs) Ignorance of d law is nooooooooooo xcuse 4 breaking it  :P::)

Ummita my point is, I do not disagree that Law and order does not exist in a few houses in Nigeria but what we r looking at is Nigeria as a whole not individual houses. In Nigerian every1 knows most of that da law but majority of the people modify it to suite thier life style.

I think the people 2 blame r the 1s up to cause they r the 1s the poor people look up to. Not to go into politics or anything but i think that all of Nigeria's problems start from da top. Cause the people on top have set a bad example for the up coming people, they have given them the image of 1s u r on top u r untouchable and of course in Nigeria this is often the case.

4 d first tym in ma entire livin 87yrs I have come 2 agree on jussthis yuwa statements. U r ryt on this one, but still I disagree as well(she laffs). If u say from d top, r u speakin of d leaders? If u say from d top that also goes 4 d law makers...yeah u r also refearin 2 d  law makers, cuz they r also on top & duz that mean those that lay laws 4 ppl 2 follow in Nija r also d onces layin d bad example? & those corrputin leaders, if only we cud du away with them, I think all Nijas will obey. Fullstop I don tiya....if u one follow walw follow if you no one follow na you sabi. I wan go vandalise something who one join me? ::)
