GOV.GOJE: THE NORTHERN NIGERIA HATSHEPSUT (III)

Actually, Nigeria needs leaders like Goje, yet some of us mischievously try to cut their legs out from under them, especially those that distrust a constituted authority and separate genuine leadership from real moral values. When we do this, we then settle for a variety of pseudo leaders: the "celebrity", the "vote getters, the "front runners", the "over achievers" and the so-called "trend settlers".

However, part of the wisdom needed to recognize a true leader is the wisdom to know how he impacted on his followers. If we are to make our own exodus for Gombe leadership, we must be able to recognize not only what Danjuma did, but who he is and what he stands for. We must remember that Goje leads, because he knew whom to serve and follow. God of course, is our leader and guide in the truest sense; all other leaders follow in His light and infinite mercies.

Since his coming into office 2003, he has constructed over 50 asphalt laid roads to ease public transport system in Gombe metropolis. More than 30 other roads have been constructed in local governments and rural areas of the state.
Indeed, the formation of a stable government in Gombe state is brought about by people's resolve aimed equally and consistently at two goals: the moderation of the general will and the curtailment of public authority. The polarities fixing these two points theoretically are difficult to locate precisely, but the rule establishing them can, I believe, be described most accurately as mutual restrictions and concentration, intended to minimize the friction between the will of the people and legitimate authority. This science is acquired perfectly by Danjuma Goje through practice and study. Goje understood very well that the most perfect system of government involves offering friendship, kindness and love to all people.

Because of this, the youth Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), generously acknowledged Goje as someone whose remarkable religious tolerance deserves commendation and hence honoured him by extending its virtues for peacefully resolving religious differences in Gombe state. This award was the first of its kind given to Governor Goje. Being the only Northerner to be accorded this opportunity by youth CAN, and being the most outstanding personality that mixes leadership with virtue, Goje's humbleness and profound camaraderie stood him out as somebody that produces the greatest possible happiness, the highest level of social security, and the greatest degree of religious and political stability. Last week his Excellency also bagged another award from Administrative Staff College of Nigeria(ASCON) of based on merit. He has been an alumnus of ASCON who serves the association with due diligence and personal temerity for quite sometime.

Based on the aforementioned, we have the right to engage ourselves in standing ovation for Muhammadu Danjuma Goje by finally describing him the way Ali Mazrui described Queen Hatshepsut as the INDOMITABLE one of the great achievers of all time.
Concluded.
