At The Seashore
By: Ebrahim Hamzah

Waiting at the seashore,
Hoping for a break of day.

Everyday hoping for the light,
that was once radiant.

Everyday I go to the seashore,
hoping for morning to come.

When I go the seashore,
There is only blackness.

A long day of,
continuous darkness.

At the Seashore I am bewildered.

Until God brings the light.
So that one may be rightly guided.

Assalamu alaykum, and may Allah subhana wa ta'ala watch over us all. amiin.

Assalamu alaykum and greetings my brothers and sisters. In this poem At The Seashore, we are describing how one has put their trust into a friend or companion to send a message home. At the seashore they made a covenant, and the companion said he would return with the response. But after he has left communication has come to a halt. The author trusted his friend dearly to deliver the message home. But he has been left in the bewildering darkness of not knowing. So if we do not communicate we may not understand someones intention.
