If I look at the mirror
what I see is my image not yours
If you look at the mirror
what you see is your image not mine
If they look at the mirror
what they see are their images not yours or mine
Why then must you insist in seeing your image
when I look at the mirror?

Kano Forum / Re: Cholera in Kano
« on: December 04, 2001, 07:46:53 PM »
There are a number of reasons why we have recurring cholera outbreaks in Kano. The most important being that the State can no longer provide clean water for its growing population. We can see how the MASU RUWA are proliferating and operating under very unhygenic conditions in all parts of the metropolis.

Secondly, the research and statistics as well as disaese monitoring units of the ministry do not seem to be doing their job properly.

Moreover, the knowledge to prevent cholera spread is not there. People are ignorant, authorities can no longer make people aware. awareness campaign is crucial and timely.

Many of us in the Academia and health will be most willing to assist the State Government on issues like this, BUT only if it is willing to invite us, listen to us, allow us tell them the truth but also implement workable recommendations.

But it is time to start putting our resources at work.
