Actually I symphatize with you. Your story really touched me. That not withstanding divorce is never the best option. Two wrongs can never make a right. What you need is prayers and surely God in His infinite mercy will see you through(in-sha-Allah).

I believe what you are going through is a trying period. We all experience such moments maybe in different ways.

If I may recall I had bitter experinces that made me detest marriage initially. Twice I was disappointed at the last moment. And I prayed to God over it,and life goes on. I met my angel and we are now married I love her more each and everyday. That is the power of prayers.

Lest I forget the two girls that disappointed me are still single and searching. God really work miraculously. I believe prayers can move a mountain. Allah subhanahu wataala enjoin us to turn to him when we are in need. You need Him now, pray and things will change for the better.

In-sha-Allah we will help you pray. Please I beg all muslims to help our sister pray for her marriage to work. Never opt for divorce,it is a way out for loosers. I don't think you are a looser.

I pray Allah to guide us in all our undertakings amen.

lol hi shabba

first of all, i would much rather have muslim 'evangelists' moving around preaching to people about their religion than sharia. ?I have no problems with ppl trying to spread their religion, as long as they don't kill or harm me for non-acceptance, and i know that the christian evangelists in nigeria do not kill dissenters.

u think only christians are against sharia? my friend, i don't think ppl with no particular religious affiliation (the new generation mostly) are happy with sharia in nigeria at all. secondly, i'd like you to read my response to abumujahid's last post. i'm a christian, and as such i don't care for prostitutes, gambling or night clubs. My point on that was in response to Abumujahid's (and your) idea that sharia will not be applied to non-muslims. If that's really the case, then what about the fatwa on isioma? would that have happened if sharia was not there? is possible that a muslim non-northern politician could have done what shinkafi did?

Thirdly, i think i've hit the crux of my disagreement with many of you pro-sharia folks: sharia in theory vs. sharia in practise. Your arguments all point to the fact that sharia is not a problem in theory; but is that the case in practise in Nigeria? Can't you see the point that those who started this sharia thing are not interested in islam but in their pockets, that they are the only winners and the losers are the northern masses? shabba and ice i would like you guys to respond to the points Haruna made about the way sharia is being practised in nigeria, aka the contradictions? Is he right?
THe fact still remain,Shariah is for muslims. Never for non muslims. As one of my mentors once said "you are free to swing your hands, nobody will ask you why,but if you swing your hands and touch my nose definately I will ask why".

Non muslims should not teach us how to practice our religion. Lakum dinakum waliyadeen. You have your religion and I have mine,I will not practice your religion and you won't practice mine.

Why the fuss over shariah. Who is afraid of it? Shariah tends to wipe away social vices in the most decend way, what will your responce be to AIDS? And what of the happenings in places like Lagos when you shout Ole? Do you think these are better ways of doing away with social vices.

Leave Shariah alone it has come to stay. A word is enough for the wise.

Islam / Re: What is the position of masturbation in Islam
« on: September 20, 2003, 10:54:44 PM »
I believe this is a very controversial topic. I am not really well learned enough to tell you the actual position of Islam over the act. Base on some nasiha I heard about it I will try and advise.
Malam Isa Waziri once said it is haram. Anybody that engages on the act according to him will go to hell.
I also heard another opinion (I can't remember the Preacher) that Islamically there is nothing wrong with it if it is not made a habit. That is if someone is not married, rather than engaging in fornication one can engage on the act to satisfy his/her sexual needs(according to the preacher). Allah knows best.
Leave what you are in doubt to what you are not in doubt. That is my own advise to you.

Its really sad and pathetic to hear of such. I pray God will forgive him all his sins. Sometimes we are the architects of our misfortune. The victim should have known that politics is a dirty game.
The issue of security in Nija is pathetic. Imagine a friend of mine told me they were attacked by armed robbers after Birnin-Gwari on his way to Lagos. Could you believe the robbers operated for 5 good hours on a major high way like that.
Do you think we have a Government in Nija? I don't think so.
Zuciyar mu ta gama mutuwa sai dai addua kawai. Allah ya jikan shi Ya kuma kyauta namu karshen.Ameen.

General Board / Re: How long should courtship last?
« on: August 12, 2003, 02:19:37 AM »
Left to me I will say there shouldn't be any coyrtship before marriage. This is because it is nothing but fake. No one shows his/her true character. The guy always try to be Mr. Nice while the babe potrays a very different character. I remember once a friend confided in me a day after his wedding., that if his wife had a twin sister, he could have said they gave him a wrong bride.

As per issue of lasting marriage one should just pray to God.

General Board / Re: Hausa Movies...
« on: August 12, 2003, 03:07:32 AM »
I agree with this writer there is nothing good in Hausa movies. I don't think they potray our culture. Rather they currupt their viewers the more.
Singing, dancing and all what have you are not part of our culture.
I don't think this has to do with anyone not living in the country or girman kai,its just about morals. Remember the holy prophet said, say what is good or keep quite.
To me hausa movies should be ban and all the actors and actresses should go and get married which I believe is more rewarding to them in this world and hear-after.

General Board / Re: Shocking State of Education In Northern Nigeri
« on: August 15, 2003, 03:07:30 AM »
Somebody once said that the poor participation of northerners is their islamic belief, which i quiet diagree with,i think the main problem is lack of concern by our elders and poverty, our elders in the sense that in the southern part of nigeria u wil finds out that one man sponsored at least two people from his area, from primary up to uni level, and infact if u want contest any position u have to submit the list of those u have sponsored, and back to poverty, not many people will afford to send their children to school, and as such they prefer the children to stay at home and hawk shinkafa da wake so that they will get somethuing to marry the child uip.state's govt didn't help the matter as well.
Do you think we have elders in the North? All we have is a group of selfish and self centered elements. They don't have the interest of the North at heart. Rather they only think of ways to under develop the North.

The elders we have are only interested in pursueing their selfish agenda. The role Shagari,I.B.B. and the rest played in Obasanjo's re-election is a living testimony. Point of correction we only have greedy elements parading themselves as leaders. 2007 is just arround the corner we will hear the stories they will tell us.

General Board / Re: Kwankwaso and the Defence portfolio.
« on: August 12, 2003, 02:28:23 AM »
I believe selecting Kwankwaso as a Defence Minister is unfortunate. Someone that was rejected by his people while still serving should not be selected to represent the same people.

I think its a very wrong thinking to choose someone that was desgraced out of office. The people said it all,THEY HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN HIM. Do the President need a Prophet to tell him so. Or is it a case of ,the more you see the less you understand.

« on: August 15, 2003, 02:43:11 AM »
One thing that we are suppose to understand is that is not the duty of a girl to find a husband for herself ratrher it is her parent's responsibility, that is if we are talking about it islamically.
I disagree with this writer. From Islamic point of view parents select a husband for their daughter if she is not matured. If a girl is matured and knows the difference between right and wrong, her parents shouldn't impose husband on her. Remember there is no trial and error in marriage rather its suppose to be for a life time. To my opinion if one is making a mistake in selecting his or her spouse, they should make the mistake their selves, not someone to make the mistake for them.

I think there is nothing wrong in a lady asking a decent man to marry her. Afterall what a man can do a woman can do better.

General Board / Re: IBB AND 2007:
« on: September 20, 2003, 10:27:01 PM »
I have been an ardent admirer of IBB for the simple reason that the man appears to be a real MAN. When i talk of men, i talk of them as those that can suck the tail of a live scorpion, and not as the weakling yellow freaks in terms of those embracing women. I believe truly that IBB has been the most hated, dehumanized and disgraced leader by the press(s/w) we have ever had. The guy caurageously withstood all those attacks on his person, undaunted and resolute in his belief, till date. I may be wrong, but I think people like IBB should stay clear of the dirty game, politics. The ertswhile Buhari was lured into it, and terribly crashed, or "made" to crash at the polls. I believe that politics in this country is fast becoming a game of deciet, cheating, arm twisting and even elimination. IBB should spare us the agony of another northern gentleman being "crashed" in 2007. ??? u think IBB will be disgraced if he joins the race 2007? Don't forget the man is an evil genuis,he will scheme is way. Or do you think Atiku can stand up to him.
I B B ya zama kadangaran bakin tulu a Nigeria. Mai karfi sai Allah Ya Isa.

« on: September 20, 2003, 10:18:02 PM »
When I first read the story I said this man most be crazy. Imagine one single individual spents 240M for accomodation alone and he believes its a sacrifies. I think this is ridiculous. The unfortunate thing is, this is happening in Nigeria where alot of people cannot afford 2 square meals, its really simphatetic.
Lest I forget is Obaseki now a building engineer that building his house will affect his work?
Allah Ya isa!  :o
