In the Qur'an... Eve was no downfall... and we did not have to "inherit" her punishment....
Prophet Adam (s.a.w.) was forgiven and so was Hauwa (Eve)....

lol FDQ christian belief, ke? hehe what do you know about christianity? abeg, christians do not believe that evewas the responsible for man's downfall..what about the serpent that deceived her? and adam who instead of admonishing her, joined in her sin? As for her punishment, the serpent and adam were also punished. I don't know where you got that from.

Since we are on this subject, do Islamic countries have a good women's rights record?

um... yes...actually the Bible does point that out... ::) and thus the "original sin" concept.. etc etc.. and yes the Bible talks about us females being punished with cramps and all......(and i dont want to go into that right now...)

Women under taliban rule? i dont view the taliban as Islamic.. cuz Islam did not prevent women from seeking education, and all the other issues u see in the media... RELIGION has nothing to do with it...

or u are refering to honor killings u HEAR about that take place in places like lebanon (not islamic), india (not islamic).. or wut?... cuz i know xtians, hindus, bahais, and other minor religions in the middle east and asia also commit such TRADITIONAL (not religious) honor killings...

and also such honor killings do not only involve women.. the also involve MEN.. if a man cheats his family in business, he is most likely to be killed and other such thingie ma jiggies...

but fact is....Crime against women takes place in ALL nations!!!!...
for example... igbo females complain about igbo men treating them like animals... do i say ALL igbo men are like that? will i say it is xtianity that makes them do that?
sex slavery is HIGH in israel, thailand, aaaalll the way to miami bay.. so will i say its their religion that supports that?
the very common date rapes that is high in the US is rarely given any attention...
Women is the "west" not too long ago took part in voting and politics... where as 1400 yrs ago, Muslim women have participated in such activities...
in the "west"... pornography of young women and old too is abundant... wuts that? not violating women's right? that is straight down degrading women.. why isnt that an issue?

Thanks for your reply. Wow, you do read the bible. Though I am Christian I would gladly place my hands on an Qu'ran, however I can't read Arabic. There are English versions, but muslims have told me that those versions are corrupted, so.. ::)

Your point on women's rights all over the world is well taken. And yes, it would be silly to characterize the West as Christian; they are thoroughly atheist. Their ideology 'its all good as long as you don't hurt anybody' is not christian at all. Your reply has actually taught me a few things..I guess most of the countries I see as 'Islamic' are in fact, no such thing. But I thought that Islam was everything including culture to muslims; that's what Abumujahid has been leading me to believe?? confused.. ???

and it's pretty safe to get a translated Qur'an.. i dunno about some of them being corrupted... but ask a reliable person for a copy or some quotes or sumthin like dat...

Lionger, get one that has commentaries on the verses, for that way you will fully understand thier meanings, why and in what context they were revealed. Let me know and i could 'beam' one to you!

    Islam simply means absolute, complete submission to the will of Allah. The

deen (way of life/religion) makes it clear that where eva one is, if he/she accepts

the will of God, will b part of the Islamic Nation....and therefore everything of

his/hers will be islamic. But ofcause, its human, being a believer does not mean

practising it. Most of these countries even the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia doesnt

pick these things they way they should. Its a currupt world.
    Allah has promised that if all of man and jinn of the first and last

generation will come together to ruin the Holy Qur'an, they couldn't change even

a page. I promise you lionger, the translations are also the same, but some

Qur'ans come with tafsir: its like further explanation which are made by men...

Like I said man is subject to error and selfishness, aonly then that u MIGHT

find a corrupted Qur'an. I'd say you pick up onw urself from an Islamic centre.

And while you do that...I'd like you to pick up a book called the choice, by

Ahmad deedat 1993.
