THAT IS SOOO EVIL!  AND WHERE THESE SHELL PEOPLE R FROM, IN THEIR COUNTRY EVERYONES AN ANTI-POLLUTION FREAK....WHICH IS THE GOOD THING TO BE....
BUT THE MOMENT THEY R IN THE THIRD WORLD - NOBODY CARES BOUT THE INHABITATS...

THIS IS SO NOT FAIR...AND THEY DONT EVEN OFFER THE INHABITATS IN THE VILLAGE ANY JOB AND YET THEY ARE POLLUTIN AND KILLIN THE VILLAGERS.

THE shell PEEPS SHOULD COME OUT WITH A SOLUTION TO LESSEN AND CONTROL POLLUTION.

AND ANOTHER THING, OUR GOVERNMENT SHOULD INSPECT THESE KINDS OF PLACES AND PUT SOME RULES AND AGGREEMENTS.....DO SOMETHING....ITS THE PEOPLE THAT ARE DYING....

IF IT WAS SOMEWHERE IN THE US, THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS DEMONSTRATIONS....HUMAN RIGHTS THINGGY!

PEACE--- !

People, isn't it obvious that this is just a propaganda?

Da truth is, Shell isn't da only oil company in the Niger-Delta there's also

NNPC, Texaco, Chevron, Elf, etc etc, They also have flares. So why is it

only aimed at Shell? Well I have seen Shell flares infact they don't allow

people without safety equipment to come within 50 metres of the flares.

And there are fences that ensure that unauthorised people don't get close.

Do you know these people also dig and break da pipes by themselves?

They do it in order 2 get fuel and sell it illegally. So who caused these

pollutions? Also I have seen clearly written signs and Warnings in Areas

that have pipes in them. The oil companies warn these people not to go

near such hazardous areas. But would they listen? Infact, they would start

unneccesary riots to say that oil companies have deprived them from

accessing certain areas. Also these oil companies pay them a lot of

compensations for all the inconveniences. Just go to the Niger-Delta

and see what these oil companies have done for them. The south wouldn't

have been this developed if it wasn't for these companies.

They really help the inhabitants. U should see all the ammenities they've

provided for these rural areas; schools, pipe-borne water, shops, farming

mechanism..etc u name it. They even give scholarships for college and

university students. They are really trying for these villagers. As for jobs,

well, if the villagers apply and reach the certain requirement why wouldn't

they be offered jobs?
