Why our girls like money too much?

Hey!
These days I am not sure what has taken the minds of our girls off the track. They are crazy about the idea of possessing a very rich guy, not bothering to look at how the guy gets his fortune.
What annoys me much is the fact that, even those that come from poor-to-do families are in to the idea.
Well, that perspective of life has to change or else alot of girls will do kwantai since the proportion of the rich guys in the society is uncomparable to that of the poor.
What do you think?

I think the problem is not peculiar to "our girls " alone,it is a problem of the general present day society which i think can be attributted to lack of fear of Allah,decline in religeous knowledge and corruption of good moral values.

well virtually all we can say is ALLAH ya gaira. Is not only girls almost the whole 99.9% of the world see u as somebody if u ve the BENJAMINS and to add more is not about ur potentials, self respect , diginity, ethics and social responsibility. ALL PEOPLE CARE IS WHAT U VE.

By the way is not that im suppoting the girls , but dont blame them. The way our men treat women nowadays , i dont think is proper especially our HAUSA MEN the "divorce rate" is too high and men kicking and marrying women with no control.While the women fall for the same type of men over again. So i think what goes around comes around.

I think men should follow a principle law "IF U NO MARRY ME WHEN I AM A STARTER , THEN LATER WHEN I GET RICH , I WILL JUST BUY THE WIFE". Becus is just like going to the market and telling the seller i want this with that.
Last time i heard a chat with a frnd , he told the girls are lowering thier expectations now... but it seems he got the wromg movie.

Lets not point fingers, but rather make the money and buy what u want ......infact GLOBALIZATION is soon coming the world will be one market with no boders and u will have all the varieties.
Good thing come to those who wait.

Jeweel, I think the reason behind high rate of divorce among the Hausas, is attributable to the manners in which the women chooses the men to marry. All they think of, is getting a rich guy. Fine and good. They got one and hook-up with. After a very short time, you find that they got divorced because, the husband thinks that he got the money to download as many wives as he wish since he is rich, he got the money.
May be he is not at all in love with her. He is just carried away by her beautiful body. And once he is through with her, all he has to do is get rid of her and download another beautiful girl.
What the girls failed to see is that marrying a rich guyis not always the answer to thier problems. I personally advice them to search for the ones that truely love them and are willing to spend the rest of thier lives with them. In this way, the rate of divorce could be reduced to the barest minimum.

Hey Nabulsi, i kinda agree with you, girls really need to change. But that

doesn't mean that da guys aren't at fault as well they think once they

have money they can do whatever they please. :roll:

That's a really inappropriate thing to say. Talking about two wrongs dont

make a right!! :roll: I thought u were da person talking about ethics, self

respect and dignity? I find it really offensive to say "BUY". That sentence

u said about "going to the market to tell the seller what u want to buy" is

really very offensive, not just to me but all girls wud not find it very

funny. Please think before u say some things because it is very very

offensive :!: :!: How much more can you belittle us women? Was it da

girl that proposed to da man? How wud men feel if it was da other way

round, huh? So it is ok for the man to flaunt his money to attract the girl,

and do whatever he likes ko? why isn't the man blamed for his actions,

but the girl blamed for her acception? Do u know that most of the time it's

not the girl's free will? haven't u seen cases when da parents push their

daughters towards such things? so why then is it the daughter that carries

the blame for other peoples' actions?

Men are really very complicated species!! Wasn't it the same people

that say they can never marry a woman with an equal or higher academic

qualification? Fine, then u marry someone that leans on u, then u call her

a gold digger? ya'll really need to get ur acts right!

Infact, even if ma, lemme remind all of you that money is just as worldly

and superficial as beauty and body and colour. To me, they are all

duniya! U classify a girl as "ugly" and her self esteem is bashed.

Well, you have a point here. But the problem is not that of the girl choosing a well-to-do guy. It has to do with choosing a well-to-do as well as loving and caring man to marry. The trouble is that, they don't combine these two search tips in thier search of a husband to marry.
I also agree with you that, men's attitudes too has to change. They have to be aware that being rich does not authorise them to do whatever they wish. There are certain limits imposed on them. They have to know that divorce is one of the things that is "halal", but Allah (S.W.A) does not like it. Before they divorce thier wives, they have to make sure that there is no other alternative open to them.

"Rufa wa mutum asiri" is definitely not da same thing as BUYING da Person.

Rufin asiri has nothing to do with money at all.

Come on, think. "Buying a Wife?" Does it sound morally right to u? How

wud u feel if somebody bought u? just answer that. Do u know how

insulting that phrase is? U propbably wouldn't, afterall u r a man, and not

Madame Fateez,i never implied that "rufin asiri" meant buying a person (although almost all the (hausa)women i posed the question to seemed to think it was kinda derogative and insultin).
So what do you really think of the term?do you think its offensive?

I've noticed that you seem to think men are behind all the problems in the world,don't u think u r being 2 1-sided (and unrealistic)?why is it that u always thnk just bcos we r men we cant thnk right?

welllit seems like FATEEZ u really got moi wrong ................if u can go back to my post u will see i said no pointing fingers.............infact i tanish the whole image of people divorcing there wives for an unecessary concrete reason.

what is said in this forum is al true from everyone. we cannot point fingers at anyone . now when we look at the hausa films we mainly see the guy whom may be rich having many girls as his grasp wanting to marry him or have some girls who would go so low and take their friends fiance. but becaus eof what these movies show, it reflects on the viewers. a woman wants to live comfortably regardless, even if some have to stoop low as to marry a man just because of his status. the same for men where they just go for the girl who is slim, light skinned and whos family has money. its crazy how society is changing now, and this all should be blamed on poverty, because of poverty our people are now resorting to lower standards as to go for a man with wealth and status and a man to do the same also. i just pray that nigeria in a whole comes out of the depression it is in now, and insha allah this might all be a part of history.
