Recently, President Obasanjo has been firing and replacing his Ministers at will.  The most recent person to be fired  was former Minister of State for Defence, Rowland Oritsejafor.  Rowland got fired while attending a Federal Executive Council meeting. In fact, he was quietly called out of the meeting and informed.  His files were still on the table in the meeting room when his employment got terminated.

Obasanjo then appointed Late General Ironsyi's son as the new Minister for Defense.  Prior to being appointed Minister for Defense, the younger Ironsi was an Ambassador to Togo, and prior to that, had worked in the diplomatic corp for most of his career.  I am not sure what the rational is for appointing him as the Defense Minister. This may be Obasanjo's way of appeasing some quaters, but quit frankly why would anyone accept a position only to be fired in less than a year....(this is assuming all goes well, and elections hold, and a new government is sworn in)

It appears that Obasanjo is now just throwing everyone he forgot about previously into some office regardless of the requirements of the job, regardless of the person's background and experience. None of that counts anymore.

What matters more to me is; Why Obasanjo don't consider about a person's background when doing things like this? More expecially educational one?
Oh! this man must have sothing wrong with him. Ko yanashan dawo ne? Inyi ta dan sokoto.
Bring us a positive change Allah.

What the presidency did to the former minister of defence was very embarassing. The minister wasn't informed of this development untill the last minute. He was with his files as Ete said. This is very embarassing and it shows how the government is being run.I thought some decorum existed whereby one is shown appreciation for his service.
The worse was when the information minister came out bluntly and said that the former minister doesen't need to be informed prior to his termination of duty.
Surely after suffering comes enjoyment

Yea, the former Minister was relived of his duties so unceremoniously. It was IBB that used to swap minister in this manner. One minute you are number in command, and before you know it, you are offered a ministerial position.  One can never understand President Obasanjo. To think he even sent a letter of appreciation to Tafa Balogun for his 'service or should I say disservice to the nation' was puzzling.
So in a nutshell that Ugly Tafa Balogun stole every single dime from the police force, got caught, kept under very executive detainment for six months, and then released to enjoy his life.  As if to add insult to injury, Baba Iyabo sent him a thank you letter.  This man dey craze O!
