For those of my friends who are reading about AFRICOMM for
the first time, it means AFRICA COMMAND; it is a United States
of American Military base in Africa, and in this context, Nigeria
in particular.

Here this:-
"....With little scrutiny from Democrats in Congress and nary a whimper of protest from the liberal establishment, the United States will soon establish permanent military bases in sub-Saharan Africa. An alarming step forward in the militarization of the African continent, the US Africa Command (Africom) will oversee all US military and security interests throughout the region, excluding Egypt. Africom is set to launch by September 2008 and the Senate recently confirmed Gen. William "Kip" Ward as its first commander"

Sooner or later, from the way things are going, US will presurize
our political leaders to accept AFRICOM in full and immediately after
its lunch, all US interest in Nigeria will be the first target.  Here this also.

"...In truth Africom is a dangerous continuation of US military expansion around the globe. Such foreign-policy priorities, as well as the use of weapons of war to combat terrorist threats on the African continent, will not achieve national security. Africom will only inflame threats against the United States, make Africa even more dependent on external powers and delay responsible African solutions to continental security issues. "

Recently, the US Ambassador to Nigeria, Mrs. Robin Renee Sanders
have started touring some states in a view to spread the evangelism
of AFRICOMM.

How US continue to take Africa for granted is a matter of concern
as we were turned slaves in this modern age.  Wether we like it
or not, America is coming for the sole purpose of our oil and nothing
will stop them from achieving their aim.

I cant really recall, but I have been able to lay my hands on some
documents which were downloaded from a website, where it was
stated that since the middle east is given America too much trouble
and considering the amount of dollars they are spending, why not
channel their attention to Africa, especially Nigeria, since she is
endowed with abundant fuel and other natural minerals.  In that
same website, it continued to state that since religion is matter of
concern to Nigerians, then it should be used against them, and in
the process the AFRICOMM will take control of the Niger Delta in
consequence the nations treasure will be under their control.

If this is achieved, revenue accruing to the nation will be determined
by the US Government while crisis looms in Nigeria - Allah ya kiyaye.

Its now left for our Leaders, both politicians and traditional institutions
to raise up and look at this in a critical way.  It is better to face
the sanctions now and be left alone than to allow the US take over
the mantle of administration in Nigeria.

What are your view forumites.

DB, seriously this is an alarming development, sai dai kawai Allah ya Taimaka, because wadannan so-called leaders namu baza suyi komai ba, All they care about is what they can have n what they will continue to get.

We haven't seen anything yet, as to the extent this current U.S administration the damage they had done. Allah ya dora mu AKANSU, amin.

Mufi, have you read DB's piece throughly kuwa? I doubt...cuz if you did, I wholeheartedly believe, you could say such. Any way; different people...uh?

Sincerely speaking, I completely am against this US military base. And by Allah's grace their aim will never be achieved. Thats just modern colonization and cunning proress of exploiting our fuel and mineral resources, as you have already mentioned DB.

But DB, I could remember that I once, thats before Yar-Adua's visit to US, that he declined that request. Haven't you also heard of it? Thus why didn't they give-up?

Hmmm. It has been a U.S plan for a long time.It is something that i'm afraid is gonna happen sooner or later sai dai wani ikon Allah.Do you know how long it actaully took them to wage war in the Middle East?Look at what is happening there. The number of people dying, homeless. In some parts,it is like there has never been anything like peace.A lot of them have lost that hope that all will be well. All they think they can do is to bomb themselves up.Wai kuma ma don sun fimu dan hadin kai kadan.Just think of what is going to happen if the U.S uses it's poisoned clause on Africa. All hell will break loose. And with our corrupt leaders! If that is really what the U.S wants, gaskiya i cannot see that not happening. They know ways to follow and achieve what they want.
Another unfortunate thing is the type of leaders we have.Attension seeking, power grabing, money sucking things! They do not care about how you,me or any other person feels about anything as long as the have nothing to loose which of course they dont. They will be payed handsomely in anyway. They will tell you what they want you to do(what they have been told to do)and will expect you to abide by that.
If that should happen,Africa will roll a hundred years backwards.Dama ga ba hadin kai.We will no no peace. There is going to be a war,a massive one.So many people will loose there loved ones and there is nothing anyone can do about it.Allah ya kiyaye mu.

Muhsin, Of course I read what DB wrote n my response to it if u read thoroughly and understood what i said u know i'm first of all talking about our Nig. leaders n all the other african countries not taking proper steps in stopping this preposterous action by the U.S. govt. to build this so-called American Military Base in Africa.

Just go back and read again b4 u start thinking that i'm supporting this, Ok!!!! ??? ???

The current U.S. govt have been nothing but headache even to their own ppl, so what do we expect the rest of the world to get.

Allah dai ya dora mu akansu, Amin.
