HEALTH Minister, Professor Adenike Grange, and her Minister of State, Mr. Gabriel Aduku, an architect, have resigned on the strength of the allegations of corruption in the ministry.
The ministry's Permanent Secretary, Professor Simon Ogamdi; the Director of Administration, Dr. H. B. Oyedepo; the Director of Finance, Hanafi Muhammed, and 11 other officials have also been sent on suspension pending further disciplinary action against them.

Presidential spokesman, Mr. Segun Adeniyi, said yesterday that the resignation of the ministers was to enable them answer allegations of corruption levelled at them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

OMG, sometimes i temporarily go crazy whenever i have the opportunity
of knowing things, that is why i envy the fulani man who is rearing his
cattle in the bush not minding how many billions or trillions his country
man steals, he doesnt care how much is petrol per barrel and wether
the dollar is rising or falling or tumbling.  He doesnt care how much money
comes to his state as its share talkless of local government.  He doesnt
mind wether NEPA ever exists, his bush lamp never fails him.  No heart
attack or any form of disease due to the handiwork of his fellow country
man.  He dies a natural death.

Imagine the kind of billions these people steal, while people keep dying
in our various hospitals.  I pity the Minister, she falls into the hands of
a typical Nigerian Public Servant.  He masterminds how money will be
diverted into private pockets, that is why no matter how Government
changes, the public servant is highly corrupted so that it will immediately
infect any government that comes in.

Thanx to His Excellency, Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar'adua for this bold step,
and we do hope, it will be extended to other Ministries as well, because
no one feels the presence of any Federal Ministry at the State levels.  The
Public Servants design their budgets, implement  and execute it straight
to their pockets, they are the contractors and consultants of their affairs

Oh!!! I thought he resigned because an Hospital was missing or something.

gogannaka

LOL @ King.

The Minister FYI is a woman,Adenike Grange.
She is accused along with her minister of state and some directors for looting over 400 million Naira.
The case is a very sad one.
Yar'adua ordered all ministries to remit all unspent monies to the federation account but this ministry, rather than
remitting, found it better off to share the money among themselves in the name of bonus ( as if they have performed
excellently well in the past year)
This is a country that till now can't seem to provide average healthcare to the populace.
A country facing all sorts of epidemics everyday.
A country where malaria alone claims so many lives a day.
A country where doctor's strike is a regular phenomena.
Yet the minister and some lousy a$$ directors share 300 million as bonus.

I learnt the deal was leaked by some of the directors that felt the share they got from the loot was too small.
These directors now leaked the story to the press. The press were then offered 3 million Naira to silence the story.

See how our country has become.
Kai Allah ya isa.
