This sermon was delivered on the Ninth Day of Dhul Hijjah 10 A.H. in the 'Uranah valley of Mount Arafat' (in Mecca).

After praising, and thanking Allah he said:

"O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and TAKE THESE WORDS TO THOSE WHO COULD NOT BE PRESENT HERE TODAY.

O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your LORD, and that HE will indeed reckon your deeds. ALLAH has forbidden you to take usury (interest), therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital, however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity. Allah has Judged that there shall be no interest and that all the interest due to Abbas ibn 'Abd'al Muttalib (Prophet's uncle) shall henceforth be waived...

Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.

O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under Allah's trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with any one of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste.

O People, listen to me in earnest, worship ALLAH, say your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadan, and give your wealth in Zakat. Perform Hajj if you can afford to.

All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves.

Remember, one day you will appear before ALLAH and answer your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.

O People, NO PROPHET OR APOSTLE WILL COME AFTER ME AND NO NEW FAITH WILL BE BORN. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the QURAN and my example, the SUNNAH and if you follow these you will never go astray.

All those who listen to me SHALL PASS ON MY WORDS TO OTHERS AND THOSE TO OTHERS AGAIN; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. Be my witness, O ALLAH, that I have conveyed your message to your people".

Bissalam.

Sallam.
When ever I remember the prophet's last sermon, the above part of it is what always comes to my mind, because in the world today, this is what Satan is doing with us.
How many times in the past have I heard the phrase "sunfi mu musuluncin kuma gasu ba musulmai ba" with reference to christians mushriks and the like who live out their lives doing good to others and being trustworthy, being kind to humans and animals and trying not to misuse nature. You can trust them with your worst secrets and they will not betray you, you can give over your entire life's savings and in a year's time the money is still intact. People like that, God rewards them with a good and peaceful life albeit relatively. But that's all they get unfortunately. They still have no share in the hereafter because they do not fulfil their primary and I might add only purpose in this life and that is to serve and worship Allah as He Commanded. Therefore all their good works are in vain!
Thus satan, knowing that he has got them hooked on  the Kaba'ir that is the huge sins of which the number one is Kufr, disbelief in the oneness or existence of Allah, he(satan) has no need to catch them out on smaller sins, since what ever good things that a kufr does, he gets his reward here.
Allah Ya kiyashe mu Amin.
On the other hand, the Prophet Sallam, has warned us muslims that satan has given up hope of converting us to disbelief or in committing the really horrific sins (for those who strive hard against satan) so we must beware of following him in the small sins. My question is, isn't this what is happening today in reality. We are not wary of satan anymore!! Ba amana tsakanin musulmai, ba adalci ba a rike aure. Ashare ashare sun yi yawa, rashawa da cin hanci, zunde, yi da mutum, cin amanar marayu e.t.c. All of us can think of a few more to add to the list.
So you see, you can be as good as you can be, but if you don't serve your primary function in this life, its zilch for you in the hereafter unfortunately.
Be bad but fulfil your primary function of serving Allah;
Die and on the day of Judgement, you will see your good works flying left, right, and centre, (excuse the terminology) to service the debts and the zalunci you commited in your life time.
Allah knows best.

Muhammad

Assalamu Alaikum all.

How timely this post has been. Wallahi babu wani rational dan Adam da zaiji ko ya karanta wannan wa'azin manzon Allah ba tare da wani jin taqwa da Imani ba. Annabi (PBUH) said, rightly, in this sermon that { women do have rights over men as men do over women also that a  black has no superiority to the white neither does the white to the black}. What a powerfull statement this is. For those who live in the US, there is no escaping the constant TV pundits shouting the oppressive Muslim culture towards women. And the answer to this lies in the sermon. With regrads to racism, Muslims should stand with heads high saying it has no place in their religion as attested by the words of the prophet.
To me, wannan wa'azin yanada matukar mahimmanchi wurin zamantakewa tsakanin mata da muji ko kuma individual da ja'ama.
May Allah continue to shower his blessing upon Muhammad (SAW) and his Ummah.

Sallama,
it's high time Muslims open there eyes to see the real world, if the community don’t remind each other about Islam, sooner or later the religion will fade, but with remembrance it lives in us.
Special thanks to you FyneDymeQueen for remembering us the word of our Prophet (sealed of all prophet's)
