While other countries are recording tremendous progress in Science and technology; while there is dynamic shift from electronic silicon microchips to platinium base to intels and celleron; while there is a paradigm shift in aerospace and satellite systems;while other African countries like Ghana though not oil producing, is trying to build world class oil refinery; while an average Botswanan is enjoying an unimpeded access to internet; Nigeria is still battling with leadership-regional struggle and other grovelling absurdities such as tribalism, ethnicity, and religion. This is really sad.
o try and fail is atleast to learn. That will save one the inestimable loss of what might have been (positive or negative).

I kind of agree with zizo's submission. That is not to say what Nurudeen said is incorrect of mischievious. In fact, I find his analysis insightful and brilliant.

I think it has been said here many times that Nigerias problems lie, to large extent, with it's  leadership and the pervasive corruption culture that obtains in all facets of Nigerian life. I have tried being very critical of Obasanjo and his regime; but what I have found was that, criticizing what the government did without providing an alternative suggestion contributes to the fractious public discourse in Nigeria.

I am aware Nurudeen has written on some solutions to Nigerias problems in the past. I think it will be a good idea to do so on this issue as well. perhaps something good will come out from it.
