royal institutions are a part of our lives in nigeria. particularly, the north, where they are held in high esteem. however, my topic is on the ``DAN MALIKI`` traditional title and the focus of the discussion is on the historical origin, role and significance of the DAN MALIKI as a stake-holder in the administrative settings of the emirate councils in nigeria.

DAN MALIKI is a traditional title and not really a personality. usually, it is conferred on persons of royal descent. and just like most of the titles you hear of, that are DAN either of MADAMI, IYA, GALADIMA and the DAN MALIKI itself, are in the same classification of the titles, strictly for the members of the royal family. and i posted the topic hoping to get more specific information on about the title.

It just occured to me that I have never taken time to ask elders about what this title means. I think I will today, God willing.
