Idris

In the name of Allah the Beneficent the Merciful

We could go on proving or disproving something concerning the activities of a person but it will not do us much good like if we go to the primary issues of life.

Human beings, compared to all other creatures of الله are insignificant. They are not as big as elephants; not as hard as rocks; not as many as the stars yet they are the kings.

They are the kings of life because they manipulate life to their advantage due to their superior brain.

These same human beings are not without feelings and desires.

Sometimes, they found themselves helpless confronting their emotions. Sometimes, they are sad and at another time they are happy. They would have preferred to live in the city of happiness forever.

There is no single human being who does not want to be mentally comfortable and happy.

Mental comfort is not acquired by force but by knowledge and proper adjustment. When one is in conformity with the natural world, the world (to him) is straight if not it is bent.

There is no human being that can deny that he is not at war with himself sometimes. How many are times a person would want to do things in a way and his desires are different? Take the case of a person who does not want to be seduced yet he is seduced; a smoker who cannot quit the habit of smoking.

Are we really in control of ourselves or can't we be in charge of ourselves at all?

We live in different world of ideologies not because the world is multiple in meaning but because we prefer to see it in our individual selfish ways.

How can one program the mind to see things as they are not as he would prefer to see them?

Why is our approach to science so different from that of politics?

Who are we, what is the world and where are we going?

A sensible person does not leave his house without knowing where he is going but why do we move on earth aimlessly?

Self-awareness is the dictionary of life. It is the language of the Qur'an and the guide to all reality.

Why don't we set this as the basis of all our discussions so that the discussions are focused?

Once a person knows who he or she is, the treasures of the world become very evident to him or her.

May be then we can appreciate intellectual discussions.
Do not oppress and do not allow yourself to be oppressed

Admin,

I think I saw the thread started by Idris making reference to his book to be found on another site. Then I saw the reply by our well respected Hajiya Husna, which referred to what the book is, in not so good words, and also warned readers against it. I really expected Hajiya to have attempted substantiating her claims with some reasonable postulations but rather she did not. Then I logged on this morning to see this complaint by brother Idris. I would want to believe that it is not fair of us to avoid brother Idris's works just because one of us feels inadequate about it without that person making reasonable and substantiable claims.

We must keep in mind that Islam does not belong to myself, yourself or any other person. Muslims make progress by discussing their religion based on reasoned logic, proofs and well established traditions. Had Idris, called any other person names it would have been different. Had he attacked the sacred symbols of  Islam or any other religion, we would have had problem with him. But this is a person who tries to make his case based on the Qur'an and what he may have learnt from its interpretations. It is this simple then to come forward asnd disagree with him or agree in a logical manner possible. We can't just assume that we know everything that is needed to be known in Islam that we cannot appreciate a fresh perspective from others even if non-Muslim who make their case with enough substantial proofs.  While I am not saying Idris is right in all his claims but rather I believe we too can be wrong in some of ours. We can then drop the wrong in ours as we expect Idris and his likes to drop the wrong in theirs and appreciate the right in ours as much as we appreciate theirs too. It is only then a Muslim community can develop ahead of the basic claims of human existence.

You know something Waziri? I just wasted (I must say) the last three hours after reading ur above post , going over previous postings by Idris. Idris started posting sometime early 2006 I think, and we had many war of words between he and I. The most surprising thing is that I havent seen a single contribution by yr respected self towards any of his posts, either for or against his claims, his ideologies and what he was trying to propound. So I think it is somewhat presumptious of you to take that holier than thou tone in this thread, when you have no inkling of what went before.

I suggest you scroll backwards to about this time last year and read what went before in order to satisfy your desire for some substantiation of my opposing view of Idris's ideology/doctrine/dogma/creed/whatever.

I am surprised at you talking about appreciation of a fresh perspective in Islam when u are the very person who is so vehemently orthodox when it comes to matters on Islamic jurisprudence. Also I would like you to be aware that a non Muslim cannot ever bring a fresh perspective into Islam. What he can only do is to substantiate something already propounded by Islam itself and in so doing hopefully turn into a muslim himself. I think you have been spending too much time at Nigeriaworld dot com...................................dont you?
