Ok. Now what do u think of the Hausa-Fulani in the next 100 yrs to come? Their culture, belief, mission and vision; I mean their complete worldview embellished in this hurricane of insurmountable momentum. Imagine then Internet will be everywhere; vision phones will be available like transistor radio; and privacy will be a matter of privilege. Who then is Hausa man and what will he represent?

Waziri

Muhammad

Mallam Wazir you know better. As Muslims, culture should be of  secondary concern because the prophet (PBUH) came to detach us from those notions of racial/cultural/tribal consciousness. Note where such an idea took Hitler and co.
Having said that, do you sense any phenomenal change from Danfodio's jihad days to today in light of technological advancement.  I personally believe the future will continue to bring us glad tiding as long as we stick to our religion and then may be our culture.

man from tha way things are going da Hausa-Fulani  cultures will be long forgotten in a 100yrs time

haba.... that's cold!... ur trying to say we'll be extinct?...haha.. well, we'll try not to..
i know a lot of fulanis nowadays dont even know fulani.
Hausa will very much be around... but with inter-marriages, travelling, and schooling abroad...etc etc... i say, we just need to accept the changes that will come our way...

Errr..... skoolin or workin abroad has nufin 2 du with changes 2 hausa/fulani culture... perhaps u can say it might ppl individually change ppls attitude & believes with regards 2 d inter marriage stuff, but nut norms of our cultures nut even d d culture as a whole.

Blaqueen

either way... it still has the same outcome...
u marry someone who's not from the same tribe... ur kids will learn little or nothing from fulani culture... thus the generation and the next will keep going that way...
i mean, u can see this everyday... people say, "i'm fulani".. and when u say "a wawi fulfulde na".. they go look u like "DUH!"...

and tsakaninki da Allah... how many northerners abroad have u seen actually kept it real with their roots?? even if u met any, the ones who deserted the culture outweigh those who preserved the culture...

globalisation... we're all changing... and it shouldnt be a "threat".. or at least we shouldnt try to take it as a threat. The world keeps changing... we might as well accept it as it is and move on...

OK....na yadda....ba sai kin sa tsakanina da God :-/...Its just a thread. Still it doesnt really have d same outcum. Am not sayin I totally disgree with u, Infact I du... but half way though. So...... don civilisation da modernisation sai mu manta da culture & cuz globalisation is takin its toll we accept 'n' move on. Those that wan2 is by far so ok.but......... :-X Eniwayz (am zipped up)

Zipped out!! then again acceptin 'n' movin on means..leavin out d culture 'n' goin global, ke....think about it:o culture rounds off 2 our food, dress mode, language, moral & beliefs .
.
Lets leave fura & nono 4 oaths & skimmed milk
"      "     zani & riga   4 tops 'n' jeans
"     "     Saa'du Bori  4 Kurupt,bonethug 'n' harmony
When mum says am grounded, I charge @ her
So as well leavin culture can as well b related 2 religion.more or less thatz wat u r tlkin 'bout.
We wudnt adopt white culture & say cuz globalisation is just takin nature. We cant just leave our myths behind. Think about it gurl. Its easy 2 say it out 'n' put it in writing, but give it a deep taught.
Yeah rty! Fyne gurl, thats y u' b trippin when we mention fulaneez, u gon b.. "awawi fulde na, awawi fulde na!!" u' gon leave our culture accept changes of globalisation 'n' move on. Not takin liberties man!! but its a fact. Waziri's ryt in 100yrs there will b definately b changes, but I hope I wont b around by then.

Du u comprende'. So u gon' clean out accept 'n' move on or wat!!? Or shorties gon' b mad @ yah!!! We the fulaneez r gon' keep it real 'n' goin 4 say 10,000yrs 2 cum

One luv gurl!!! its all pep tlks

U & I have gone diverse 2 skip out Waziri's topic, am thinkin it was more of technology vs culture up there.

Blaqueen

aww gurl.. ;D. no worry bout tskani da God... i juss thot it was kinda a normal phrase to use... newayzz...

lol! how many northerners even know who sa'adu bori is??
as for Africa... our clothes will be around...
and as for disrespecting elders... that has nothing to do with "white" culture... stereotype hun..

people keep thinkin' "white" culture is all negative... well its actually not... there are a lot of things we could learn from them, and also many other cultures around the world...

(btw... when u say "white" u mean whut? many different kinda white people.. swiss, poles, american, irish, etc etc... all got different cultures.. so generalizing them like that is not fair...)

personally, i prefer senegalese music to hausa music.. that doesnt make meeh a sell out.. and does not mean i "forgot" my culture...

i mean c'mon, every culture is basically a lot of cultures fused in one...
our "fulani" or "hausa" culture is also a union of other cultures... if u trace all around Africa... we all got somethings in common... even with people in south eastern Asia.. Arabs.. etc etc...
Every kind of culture has borrowed some kinda thing from other cultures... there is no pure culture...
Fulani use to wear those kute little halftops.. and nothing on the head... but now we wear senegalese clothes, hausa clothes, yoruba clothes, dance to yoruba music during our ceremonies, we also wear arabian influenced clothes etc etc... it's all NORMAL and GOOD! *personally i like it*

and i'm not sayin' leave our culture... i'm juss sayin' there IS going to be a change... and when that change comes.. we shouldnt fret... cuz the world is always changing... and will continue to do so...
we're all here in this world to recognize each other and taste the different spices of life... and I am one of those who juss enjoy the positive aspects of the different cultures in za world..
;D

Ok..ok u got me tlkin again ;). Now u have changed a lil of ur statements up there, Duz eni1 read out "accept 'n' move on"? All in all, am not tlkin about not learnin to fit in other cultures or whether 1 ought 2 dance 2 (Samba, yoruba tracks) not sayin 1 shud not dance 2 their music, or dress in Agbada or Indian Sareez. but still I get d picture.

With the "white" as u said , its not a fair word, fair enuff. I'd taken it bck. Gurl still u r not tryin 2 tell me that u MIGHT end up givin a passion & a vice 'n' neva return 2 them. Watz d situation like? So go on sunshine keep xpolorin diff culturez Fur-real gurl. Du urs , I'll du mine, On ma part, I'll try 2 make sure everything looks gud, sounds gud & feels gud. I'll du my outmost 2 keep culture goin inside me 4 d rest of ma livin life. U can go on 'n' seek out new life styles 'n' new civilisation 8).

4 ur question on how many ppl know S' Bori ... I know one who definately duz, & that person is simply u....& alot outside du as well. If am not mistake, 'n' if my memory works, u said changes 2 our culture r hindered by skoolin abroad ,intermarriage & now wut, whut, wat? Globalisation. I c my self 4 one, not changin, but still maintain......

Babes, stereotype on attidute 2 parents isnt stereotype (I repeat it aint)..so u r tryin 2 tell me d way ppl r being labelled by d society, means it turns out 2 b their natural behaviour, or ought 2 b their norm? But if I may say....I 4 1 & 4 alot of ppl dont think white ppl have negative values, belifes, behaviour & morals. If I think there vibes r negative, I wont b usin (IT) 2 pass out my meassage 2 Fyne gurl, (I dont know where u perceived that) & ah!!! u just said white as well(denyin it?) Read out paragraph 3 of ur views (That aint fair 2 labell them as white)

So wat r they blue, pink... come on darlin' they have since been labelled as white ppl!! Agree 2 disgaree, they r refered 2 as white ppl. Am gald u have realised...& weighed it in ur heart, that u will still maintain our culture  :P Even though things will neva b d'same with cultures xcetra..It still duznt mean we 4get, accept 'n' move on. That wud have been a  ludacris decision & statement(So this callz 4 a celebration, Fura & nono any1) I du hope u wont make me write out again. Lets end it 'ere  ;)

Aydee Fella

dyme i strongly disagree wid u over da issue of dem yahudu and Nasara ,these people don destroy our culture finish.
is it in our culture for tha authorities to charge you juss for beating up yur own child ???????
and our dress code changed due to da advent of Islam though still some gurls who imitate the Lil kim's go out half naked and u still say that white man culture good
never rat out yur friends n alwaiz keep yur mouth shut"

Anonymous

Batta kawai, even though u urself stated a different version of ur own judgements. Accept globalisation 'n' move on & they will still consider u as an outsider, Moreover, u have opted 2 taste other cultures, which is a zillion % ok....but ... by far leavin urs behind :o boy!!! (lets say)u try 2 adopt their culture, truss....me man!!! u wont even fit (she laffs) waya ga Dyme gurl in blumers 'n' corset!!

Blaqueen

errr... AD.. u should know that there are a number of white people who actually do have good morals... its not AAALLLL white people who report their parents, or go out naked, or do drugs, or... or whuteva else u heard or seen on TV... such "hauka" is human nature, and shouldnt be restricted to a single "race"... it's not necessarily their culture
and who are nasara?.. ::)

and ummi... i said.."positive" aspects of different culture.. [and "white" in quotes.. as in "so called whites"...]
and talkin' bout "fittin'" in.. i'll juss let that slide.. cuz u really dont know meeh or where i been...
and i do not have the slightest idea who sa'adu is.. never heard bout him at aaaaallllll....
"accept" and "move on".. i meant.. people shouldnt always try to be sooo defensive about "culture"... it changes..
i guess we're basically saying the same thing.. both of u juss assumed i meant.. forgettin' "my" culture,  and adopting "western" culture.. which i never mentioned..
and to tell u the truth... i'm a product of different cultures, so u will excuse meeh if i'm not so keen on ONLY "fulani" culture...

but like Amin said.. Islam is the important aspect of life.. and all that culture/racial/tribal consciousness should GET GONE!

If u ask me wazz...I think there would be an ecolved tradition...completely different from what we know has the hausa-fulanis of today. Too much will change coz too much is changing very fast at the moment...there is no telling where we will end up. I`m afraid our culture looks too bleak.
