NIGERIANS: Would you become angry if i wrote something about your country?

I had currently finished my three novel. It would start and end in Kano Nigeria. I really fell in love with your country but saddened with some certain things like poverty. It was already through and I'm only waiting for my literary agent to contact me. However, there was one problem

I'm not Nigerian, not even African

Would you become angry if some foreigner wrote about something in your place? Promise, there would be no insult (well will you get angry if I insinuately referred that the government of Nigeria is corrupt?) regarding the people and your culture

One more things, is terra cotta a wood or clay? I wondered if the Wombai Gate was?

You've been absent for quite sometimes. Hope you've been doing just fine.

Am afraid I don't get that much time to talk at length here, but I'll like to say some few words regarding the OP topic:

As a writer you are at that liberty to write on the theme you like, set your novel in whatever setting, use any name for your character(s), etc, etc, etc. But I think there is a rule governing this, which I'll inshaAllah talk about when I get back. Many writers did and are still doing that.

BTW, we'll like to learn more about your writing @ KanoOnline Online Forum. We can discuss this @ Literature Sub-Forum

Nope i woundnt personally, because its true since the ppl govering nigeria are all just going round in circles
not seeming to find a way out, its ridiculous.
Am just popping after reading something regarding el rufai and ribadu on how they wont be allowed to renew
their passports, how insane is this, its just so crazy, isnt nigeria their country?
what else is the goverment planning to do next with there sleazy excuses.........

A family frend was telling a story on how they were in the bus speaking to woman nicely "hira tayi hira"
and when they came to the end of their convasation this woman wanted to know where our famly frend was from
cos they had a good chat, but guess what.............As soon as they said they was from nigeria the woman immediately
moved seats, yea i know "how rude".
This left our family frend thinkin ok whats up, then they thought toh probably some nigerian did somethin to her.
I mean dont get me wrong i love ma country but SOME of the people (Hmmmmmmm)
