For quite sometimes, i have pondered within myself, who may be the best Governor in Northern Nigeria from 1999 to date? My yard stick? None. Just any other area that could be counted as forming part of good governance.

So guys let me have your take on this very important issue!

I am thinking of Gov Mu'azu of Bauchi or Umaru Yar'adua of Katsina. Reason? Because they are the few core Northern governors returned by the electorate with minimal amount of fraud and rigging. For them to be re elected, considering they are both PDP gov'nors in ANPP territory and the Buhari factor and the pervasive hate for anything that is connected to OBJ (conneted by their party), suggests a level of trust and positive impact they have in the lives of people in their respective states.

Both gov'nors did a pretty good job of electrifying villages, paving and maintaining new roads and renovating dilapidated school structures.

Of course they are not saints. And things like the financial misconduct charge against Gov Mu'azu, by the Analysis magazine, underscore this fact.

I really cannot say which one is a better but I am gravitating more towards Umaru Yar'adua because I know Katsina more than I know Bauchi.

Just hoping Mallam Shekarau will do a better job than both of them. That's not to say I wish the others bad times ahead.
