Wrong!!. By all indications, PDP made its biggest mistake to date. There is no way that PDP is going to get the presidency now. They cant rig it effectively either because the godfather behind the 2003 rigging is now in another political party.

PDP thinks that 'Yar adua is going to ride to victory because of his politcal ancestry viz being related to Shehu 'Yar adua(?), but the thing is that he is not a well known figure to many southerners and that is going to affect him negatively. Besides the political strategy of ANPP and AC coalition whereby they will field a candidate from one party only, in the state where the respective party has the stronger support is a very good strategy. It gets rid of competition if nothing else.

Beside many ppl in PDP have been disenfranchised and are not happy about it. I wont be surprised if many of its party members betray it by throwing their votes out of the party.

HUSNAA,I too won't be suprised if they betray him (Yar Adua). And I perfectly, from all angles, know so they definetly will. This is also my hope!

I today in the morning while listening VOA Day Break Africa listened some PDP elders (I cannot actually mention their names) condeming OBJ's idea of bringing him, saying he has many flaws such as- he doesn't posses any sort of courage of facing jornalist, for instance for discussion;he has no any obvious vision and mission 'cuz he's only 'annoited' by OBJ (maybe against his own free will?);he has a certain illness which none of them mentioned; he even among his counterparts governers isn't a regarded man eg neither older nor richer. What on God's earth has OBJ seen before making up his dull mind?

Eventually, what happened to Atiku, the father of rigging, will certainly affect PDP's agenda and planning in the next coming general election. But they don't know. They just consigned him into dusbin. This is an addu'ar masses. Pls, our dear brothers and sisters, don't ever give up prayer-its the only weapon left with us.

Allah ya zaba mana credible leaders in this country.

Amin Amin to yr Dua  Muhsin.  Wow did u say VOA, Hausa or turanci? I hardly listen to VOA since the time that OBJ meddled in their admin structure. Anyway, I'd love to hear that program.

I heard on the BBC today that  OBJ is meddling in the ANPP. From an undisclosed source, it was reported that he met with ANPP govs presumably on Friday or saturday and threatened them to do all they can to ensure that Buhari didnt get back as the presidential candidate. There was even one governor (of Yobe) who was on the BBC last night bad mouthing Buhari.  'They dont want some military has been back in power. Wasnt he the one who ousted a perfectly legal democratic Shagari regime from power? Why should we put a man with a record like that... Look what happened when they selected him a candidate previously... everything came to nought...'

I mean the things Yobe gov was saying (he should be ashamed of himself).....

I  know that all of the ANPP governors are ambitious. Every single one would like to be declared as the ANPP presidential aspirant. This desire is going to seriously cloud their judgement so that they kowtow to what OBJ is commanding them to do (as it also fits in with their wishes) that they will not stop to wonder just why OBJ considers  Buhari such a serious threat to PDP this time around.
Me I think it is an insult to the governors (if they will only realize it) that OBJ wants one of them to compete with 'Yar adua, because he has realized that  none of them is charismatic or popular enough to be a serious threat for 'Yar adua except Buhari.
If OBJ is genuinely thinking of what is good for Nigeria, then he should openly declare Buhari as a natural successor... even the southern states are coming round to  appreciate the sterling qualities of that man

This sound undeniable Husaa. OBJ can very easily do things morethan that to 'sink' Buhari's boat of becoming ANPP presidential flag-bearer. He's afraid of him! I sadly failed to listen to BBC today in the morning, due to some problem I had gone through but all is now OK. But I wished I had listen to that OBJ's hidden fighting with Buhari.

I very often, in order to learn AmE accent use to listen to VOA. And more, to be getting the gist of what they are saying in their films. But sincerely, BBC is the best media therein exist in all over the world. No doubt on that, isn't it Husnaa?

As to the place you talked of Yobe governer i.e Bukar Abba Ibrahim. I don't why that man bad-mouthed Buhari in such a wretched manner yersternight. I did listened to him yesterday when he was speaking to Jamila Tangaza in her report on ANPP Primaries. Wallahi he better know the fuck he's doing before its too late. Ai dama, from all indication you know he couldn't hace said that to Buhari without relying on anything like OBJ's power.

Lallai Bahaushe ya kance zakaran da Allah Ya nufa da cara!!
This is one of those tales of the unexpected!! Sai kuma the ANPP stalwarts caved back for Buhari. How that happened is anyone's guess, but I have a hunch that AC had a lot to do with these ANPP govs giving in. AC is a potentially very powerful party, and it is to their credit that they came to witness the ANPP presidential selection process. This in itself is may have  intimidated the govs into retreat. I do strongly believe also that Buhari is one of the influencing factors of making an ANPP- AC alliance attractive for the AC stalwarts, especially as some of Buhari's staunch allies like Najaa Ali Abdallah who left ANPP much earlier had been saving  a place within the AC hierarchy for him. It is to his credit that he kept his honor and principles and didnt make the carpet crossing to the AC like we all wanted him to do earlier (we the smaller fish). This has now served to increase his appeal as a desirable asset for any party, that has woken up to the fact that the masses have also finally woken up from their hypnotized - by - money - trance.
I feel so much more in sympathy with yeriman bakura as he was alleged to be the first to bow out in favor of Buhari. What I am wondering is how the gov of Yobe now feels after having said all those things just less than 24 hrs before he also bowed out, albeit reluctantly perhaps. He can't eat back his words cos they are recorded forever for posterity...lol. I just hope Buhari's magnanimity is transcendental.....ppl like Bukar Abdullahi are certainly in need of it. Allah dai Ya Gyara.
PS Atiku poor man is certainly in a quandary. He has been denied the chance for the presidency under the PDP which would have ensured that he continued as vice president while at the same time being the 2007 presidential  aspirant. Now if he declares for AC, the PDP will pounce on him and have him removed as VP!!! So he cant declare. He will just sit it out (for the moment at any rate, probably). This gives Buhari very good odds for scaling through.. I mean lets face it, Atiku is a ruthless political machine. I have grown to like him bcos of all the kayoyi that are pricking him at PDP, however, I am rather glad that he wont run. I still think his self rather than the national  interests are first and foremost on his agenda

I had never thought of yesterday's event will end as wonderfully as it did yesterday at ANPP Presidential primary election.
What of their MOA with AC? I didn't see any of their member.

I'll tell you what did - corruption!

Who told you the term 'brilliant mind' is confined squarely to the context of academics?

QuoteWhy should all these 'brilliant" minds always be from the south?
Who said they should always be from the south :D  ? Ethnic wrangling has really screwed up Nigeria  :P .

amira

well i read from someones post earlier that he has done so and so for katsina, but its not alll that cos theres still so much to do, seriously u cant start digging somewhere and then leave it and start digging somewhere else without finishing, he wanted to be the governor of katsina and he is, and i swear people chose him for a reason, but to me it seems like there has'nt been any change theres still youths out there jobless and end up forming gangs doing all sorts, so where are the jobs for theses folks??? where is all the money going to????? >:(

From all indications Yar'adua is going to be Nigeria's next president.

Lallai Gogannaka, your political arithmetic is 100% acurate, i will
recommend you to the Aso Rock team of Special Advisers on
Political Affairs of Mr. President.

I stumbled on this old thread and all arguments raised by my
gentle friend Nura only translate who he really is.  When one
of our members was telling Nura that he has a private grudge
with Mr. President, he outrightly denied it, i am surprised to
find out that ashe Nura has always been a strong critic of
His Excellency.

So far so good, Yar'adua is writing down his name with gold
in the Nigeria political scene in just few hundred days in office.
I wont  comment on Katsina, because i dont know Katsina much.
