Haba DB me yayi zafi haka.
If you split nigeria we will be at the loosing end.
Imagine, our state budget was 52billion out of which only 800million was internally generated revenue.
What will 800million do?

Think twice alanguburo.
Surely after suffering comes enjoyment

Dan-Borno

that is why i called for the split up, wallahi
abin haushi, irin jihohinmu kam ba a ma
maganan internally generated revenue, so
i see no reason we should continue with
the federation depending on oil ONLY, if we
split ai kowa ya koma ya fara tuninin yaya

Ba wani think twice, no regret, where is

EMTL

Assalamu alaikum,
I just have this feeling that if we split the North will do better.

I am hundred percent behind Danborno's wish. That Nigeria should be splitted. The reason for that is that surely the north will survive. Whoever thinks the north will not survive after the break, must know that there are so many countries that have no oil and are doing very well in all facets of life. IF I HAD MY WAY, THE NORTH WILL BREAKAWAY from Nigeria today! ???

gogannaka

EMTL, Waduz and DB (rebel) the north will survive is just a prayer.
Realistically masifa za'a shiga kawai.

Ana zaune zaman lafiya.
Who will fund the Universities.
How will we get power ballantana industries suyi thriving?
ETC ETC

DB my question to you:- How do you think the northern states can boost internally generated revenue?
Surely after suffering comes enjoyment

waduz

Haba Goga, do not dispair. The question I want to ask you is this, what is happening to the people in the countries that do not have oil? I still believe that the north will be more united, prosperous and easy to govern nation. Just know that, here, so long as the Almighty will continue to open up the skies for the seasonal rains to pour, we in this part of the country will depend on no one's crumbs!

GGNK ke nan, ina ganin yau ka taso da kafar hagune ko?
ko dai kana da wata "dhimmi" ne a can Porthacourt, the
proposed split will not affect those who are committed
and bound by love, business or any other activity.  It is
just a geographical split up, while all regions are now
sovereign.

As for your question:

1.  We have enough fertile land to boost agricultural
production.  Even with out the fuel, if the north can
concentrate on agriculture it can sustain the nation.
We have the best "Gum Arabic" farms in the north
for international export.  Muna noman cotton and lots
of other Internationally accepted agricultural products.
(Aunty Husnaa should brief you on the Lake Chad basin
and how Wheat is being produced there)

2.  Animal farming; you will agree with me that the north
is proud of its healthy animals (ina yar bafulatananne)?
Abi you don forget that the animal skin is also booming
     in the international market.

3.  Transportation (both road and rail) could be a very good
source of revenue to the north.

4.  Tourism (Where is Nuruddeen, brief us on Yankari please)

5.  The north before now is well known for payment of head
tax which government of these days never care to look at.
By strict payment of taxes (Haraji) government will realise
     a lot of money.

6.   ??? if all these didnt work, we will collect loan from IMF.
Bashi yana tsuliyan kowa ai. lol

Waduz there are a lot of countries that don't have oil but yet are doing excellently well.France,Germany ETC.
Amma dai Nigerians yadda muke very lazy dinnnan, oil is a blessing even though muna cewa it is a curse.
Without the oil money we wouldn't have been where we are.We have to thank God for blessing us with our only means of National Income (Alhamdulillah)

Nigeria can be split only if oil is found in the North.

Kai kuma alanguburo...how did u know i had a P/H related love interest...ko ka iya duba ne?  ;D

We are talking of what will sustain more than 50 million people o! Not farming for what you will buy maggi.

God blessed us with Niger and Chad as neighbours. That is where all the animals come from.
Don't be decieved by seeing them Waduz and Ummita frequently crossing the streets

Lets say we have 30000 cars travelling each day.

In a year we will get N547million.(quite impressive)

Goggs thanks for the higlights!
Whe I first saw danbarnos post I thought it was a joke. I see he is actually serious.
And Waduz...talking about unity. Do you actually believe we are any more united as a Hausa Nation than an entity of Nigeria? For long we have searched for greener pastures and if raising boarders would make our deserts green, we would have dont that long ago.

I dont really have much time to go throught this right now, but for Arewa Sake. You better be joking

if i had my way Nigerian shouldnt be split. But unite Africa even if is just west africa.

Can u imagine the abundant of resources if Africa should unite. take oil for an instance, Nigeria is the number 4 oil exporter in the world. if Libya, and other oil producing nations in Africa should become one dont you think we will not only boost our economy we can also have a great influence in the world politically n economonically

About splitting Nigeria, I don't care oen way or the other. However, I have a feeling it would be the best for us. We've become too laid-back in the North. Even the fear expressed by some of us here indicates just how dependant and lazy we've become as a region on the South (read oil). With all the oil aren't we still suffering, and retrogressing? This country was doing just fine before the discovery of oil. And would do fine without it. Allah yasa man ya kafe, mu ga yadda za'a yi. Mutuwa zamu yi kenan ko kuwa? A lot of countries have developed without oil.
