Chapter No: 2
The Superiority of Tawheed and What it Removes of Sins
from Kitab At-Tawheed
(A Book on Sincerely Worshipping Allaah Alone)
Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab
Allaah the Most Exalted said:

"It is those who believe (in the Oneness of Allaah and worship none but Him Alone) and confuse not their belief with Zulm (wrong i.e. by worshipping other besides Allaah), for them (only) there is security and they are the guided ones." (6:82)

Narrated Ubadah bin As-Samit radiallahu anhu, that Allaah's Messenger salallahu alayhe wasalam said:

"Whoever testifies that there is nothing worthy of worship in truth (no God) except Allaah Alone, Who is without (peer or) partner, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger, and that 'Iesa (Jesus) is the slave of Allaah, His Messenger, and His Word which He bestowed in Maryam (Mary) and a spirit (created) from Him, and that Paradise & Hell-Fire are realities, Allaah will admit him into Paradise, whatever his deeds might be." (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith No.3252)

'Itbaan (radiallahu anhu) narrated that the Prophet salallahu alayhe wasalam said:

"Indeed Allaah has forbidden for Hell the person who testifies: 'There is nothing worthy of worship in truth (no true God) but Allaah', seeking thereby nothing but Allaah's Face (pleasure)." (Al-Bukharee, Muslim).

Abu Sa'id Al-Khudree (radiallahu anhu) narrated that Allaah's Messenger salallahu alayhe wasalam said:

"Musa (Moses) alayhe wasalam said: 'O my Rabb, teach me something through which I can remember You and supplicate to You.' Allaah answered: 'Say, O Musa, Laa ilaaha illa-Allaah' . Musa said: 'O Musa, if the seven heavens and all they contain other than Me (Ghairy) and the seven earths as well, were all put in one side of a scale and Laa ilaaha illa-Allaah put in the other the latter would overweigh them.'" [This Hadith has been reported by Ibn Hibban, and Al-Haakim declared it Sahih].

At-Tirmidhi reports from Anas radiallahu anhu: He heard Allaah's Messenger sallAllaahu alayhe wasalam saying:

"Allaah the Most Exalted said: 'O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with the world full of sins, and meet Me without making anything partner to Me (Shirk), I would come to you with a similar amount of forgiveness. ' "

Important Issues of the Chapter

1. Abundance of Allaah's favour.
2. That abundant reward of Tawheed towards Allaah.
3. Besides earning rewards, Tawheed recompenses sins.
4. Explanation of the verse 82 in Surat al-An'am.
5. Ponder the five points mentioned in the hadeeth narrated by Ubaadah (bin As-Saamit radiallahu anhu).
6. If you look at the Ahadith from Ubaadah and 'Itbaan radiallahu anhuma and what follows altogether, the meanings of Laa-ilaaha illa-Allaah become clear to you along with the error of those who are deceived ones (Al-Maghrurin_ .
7. Take note of the condition in 'Itbaan's Hadith.
8. That the Prophets needed to be apprised of the tremendous virtue of Laa ilaaha illa-Allaah (There is no true God but Allaah).
9. The point of overwhelming of the Kalimah (Laa ilaaha illAllaah) in respect to all other creation, though many who enunciate it will not get the full weight in their balance.
10. The text showing that there are seven earths like seven heavens.
11. that the seven earths and heavens are full of creatures.
12. Confirmation of the Attributes of Allaah, contrary to the claims of Ash'ariyah.
13. Undoubtedly, if you understand the Hadith of Anas (radiallahu anhu0 you would understand the statement in the Hadith of 'Itbaan (radiallahu anhu):
"Indeed Allaah has forbidden for Hell the person who testifies: 'There is nothing worthy of worship in truth (no true God) but Allaah,' seeking thereby nothing but Allaah's Face (pleasure)"

that it constitutes abandonment of Shirk practically and not merely confessing Laa-ilaaha illa-Allaah by the tongue.
14. Reflection and consideration of the shared characteristics of Muhammad salallahu alayhe wasalam and Iesa alayhe wasalam both as Prophets and slaves of Allaah.
15. Knowing the peculiarity of Jesus alayhe wasalam being created as Kalimat-Allaah (the word of Allaah).
16. Knowledge that Jesus alayhe wasalam is a spirit from Allaah (Ruhan Minhu).
17. Knowing the merits of belief in Paradise and Hell.
18. knowledge of the meaning of the statement (of the Prophet salallahu alayhe wasalam) "... whatever his deeds might be."
19. Knowledge that Al-Mizaan (the Scale) consists of two sides.
20. What is meant by the mention of the "Face" (of Allaah).

Zaid Vicaruddin

And whoever contradicts and opposes the Messenger (Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him) after the right path has been shown clearly to him, and follows other than the believers' (Ummah/Sahaba) ways. We shall keep him in the path he has chosen, and burn him in Hell - what an evil destination. (Surah An-Nisaa 4:115)

A man came to Imaam Maalik Ibn Anas (radiyallaahu 'anhu) and said: From where should I put on the ihraam? So he said: From the place where the Messenger of Allaah (Sallallaahu 'Alayhi Wa Sallam) stopped and put on ihraam. So the man said: So what if I put on ihraam from farther than that? So Maalik said: I do not advise that. So he said: What do you dislike about that? He said: I dislike the Fitnah upon you. He said: And what is the Fitnah in increasing the good?! So he said: Verily Allaah the Exalted says, "So let those who oppose his (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) command beware that a Fitnah may strike them, or a painful punishment." And which Fitnah is greater than you specifying an action with virtue which was not specified by the Messenger of Allaah (Sallallaahu 'Alayhi Wa Sallam)? [Related Abu Shaamah in his book Baa'ith 'alaa Inkaarul Bid'ah Wal Hawaadith (p. 14). Quoted by Abee Bakr Al Khallaal.]
