Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Abubakar appears to have kicked against the saying that love is blind as he urged policewomen to keep their eyes wide open when going into marriage.

Abubakar, who spoke during a tour of Police Area Command Headquarters, told policewomen not to marry poor people like carpenters, bricklayers and mechanics.
He argued that it is not good for policewomen to marry below their status, because it could worsen their financial situation.

Policewomen, who spoke with Daily Sun, however, saw things differently. Most of them believe that marriage has a lot to do with destiny, as they argued that it is not a crime to marry a poor man.

A corporal at Area 'B' police headquarters said: "Are we going to marry ourselves? If we see rich civilians, we'll marry them. We want to be happy for the rest of our lives. We want rich people, but some will come and promise Eldorado and after making love to you, they will abandon you and run away.

"We know the crown of a woman is her husband and her joy, the children. Those carpenters, bricklayers and mechanics show more love than the money bags. Afterall, they will be proud that they have policewomen as wives."

Speaking on condition of anonymity, one policewoman said civilians don't trust policewomen. "They believe we are wicked and intimidating."

Another policewoman said her colleagues who marry poor artisans deserved what they get because they can not eat their cakes and have it.

She said: "Most policewomen enjoy life, forgetting that beauty fades. When age now tells on them, they will be forced to accept whoever wants to marry them."

A woman constable said: "the CP has done well to give us that fatherly advise, but where are the husbands? Men usually feel intimidated and threatened to have us as wives. They think they cannot control us, but we're as obedient as every other civilian woman."

A sergeant at Area "D" headquarters, Mushin had this to say: "Civilians will feel that a policeman would cheat on them, using her job to cover up. But human beings are the same."

Mallam Sule I dont understand jiberish, try Hausa or English, I'm sure u'll be appreciated.

Husnaa, as always...

Jama'a, The prophet (S.A.W) already mentioned this will happen. Truthhfully, any man whom so wishes to get married now will have a wife. Its not so easy with our sisters though. Yet, dear sisters(as Lady Husnaa has made the thread hetrosexual) its not every man that is worthy of marriage. Just as much as its not every woman we should marry... At any rate, we pray Allah fixes us up wid the right partners, Amen.

she might be stronger during the day, may be becayse of
her uniform, however weakness and fear will overshadow
her during the night time when the husband will be stronger
and stronger for over over 12 hours.
