It is important to understand that the term radio and GSM set are problematic and one needs to be very careful in conceptualising the two. Either could be the other. There are some GSM set that have FM receiver and therefore could serve as radio and some radios could also serve as transmitters of information - walkie-talkie. So keep on thinking and conceptualising!

What do you mean by problematic?
Do you mean confusing?
Any media that uses radio waves as means of propagation can be called radio.
Microwaves are radios, antennas are radio's,transmitters are radios etc.

Oh Yah! You see now how you have added to the problem: microwaves, antennas and transmitters? The lay man can hardly figure out the difference in use. I am not referring to media when I talk of GSM and Radio. But whatever, technically there are many ways of 'mediating' information. :P
