Tariq Aziz To Confront Execution by Hanging

On Tuesday, October 26, 2010 Baghdad's Supreme Criminal Court sentenced Iraq's former foreign minister and deputy prime minister, Tariq Aziz, to death by hanging.  Mr. Aziz, 74, the only Christian to accomplish a high position under Saddam Hussein's government believes the verdict handed down against him today is a revenge judgement from a vindictive Shiite-led government.  Aziz was accused of participating in the persecution of Shiite Muslim dissidents in the 1970s and 1980s before his promotion to foreign minister and deputy prime minister.
